Ryan Kelly has retired. The right call after suffering multiple concussions last season. So this news, plus the Vikings restructuring the contracts of Jefferson, Murphy and Darrisaw has them under the salary cap by plenty. Obviously Vikings will need a new C now though.
For now, just kicking the can down the road. Puts more pressure on this draft to nail it. Should’ve just cut Murphy and Hock

So both DTs gone, the Allen cut especially is very stupid/weird, Addison and Greenard likely to be traded, Kelly retired and Smith likely to retire, Jones being cut and obviously the QB situation.
That leaves a lot of holes on the roster, not much cap room and a temp GM in charge of the draft, most likely using the notes left over by one of the worst drafting GMs the Vikings have ever had. Can see it going well
With Crosby going to the Ravens I wonder if one of the teams (Cowboys) who missed out on him might be interested in Greenard. He allegedly wants a big pay rise and wants out of the Vikings as they can’t afford to give him it, so that will affect his trade value. A second is the best I can see them getting, but his ability is probably worth it for a team looking to win now.
Feels like a lot of money for an off ball 32 year old linebacker, he was good last year though.
So 5pm today is when deals can be officially announced, usually it is pure chaos so I recommend tuning into NFL network at that time if you like deadline day with news coming every couple of seconds

Not sure about strengthens, but yes there are a number of teams looking at Greenard apparently. If Crosby is worth 2 firsts I’d hope they could potentially get a first for Greenard. Him wanting a pay rise immediately doesn’t help though and they’ll probably get a mid second or something from the Eagles for him
Ivan Pace has been given the restricted free agent tag. Means if nobody else offers him the Vikings re-sign him, if somebody offers a contract to him the Vikings are able to match the offer and he re-signs.
