Why do they tramp across countrys and water to get here -simple the land of milk and honey at us the taxpayers expense.

How any government is allowed to give our taxes to these scroungers that have given nothing to this country is absolutely wrong.

I don't think it's JUST the money - obviously it is for many, but not all - otherwise they would be content to stay on the continent as 1For discussed in one of his posts earlier.
A Panorama programme a couple of years ago compared the benefits offered by the UK with those offered by France, Germany and other EU nations. Although they differ in the WAY that they are paid (eg some use voucher systems and food 'credits' rather than giving out cash), there is very little difference in the actual overall holistic cash value of the benefits. Having said that, it IS possible to send cash back home (wherever that is) which many of them do, but NOT vouchers or credits, so that will undoubtedly be a factor.
The BIG difference, it was suggested by that programme, is the lack of tracking and tracing once in our country. Most EU countries (maybe all? I'm not sure) have an strictly enforced ID-Card system, whereby it's an offence to fail to produce your ID when the police or other official demand to see it - which they can do whenever they want. We flirted with that idea about 10-15 years ago and it was rejected as an 'infringement of rights'.
In order to claim benefits in the UK, you will need to register with the state. In many cases, migrants don't want to do that because that would mean they can be traced. Once in the UK, it is possible for migrants who want to, to 'melt away' anonymously into all 4 corners of the country and the state won't know where they are or what they are doing, unless they commit a criminal offence and get caught for it. This is particularly attractive for people from the Indian sub-continent who can find low-paid (illegal) work in restaurants or takeaway establishments by using their very extensive family networks over here, or by mafia gangs and traffickers who want to be able to carry out their extortions 'under the radar'.
IMHO it's this ability to remain under the radar that attracts many of those people here, rather than opting to stay in the EU en-route where they will be tracked, traced and monitored.

From what I’m hearing he stood down because he had only 54 MPs backing him rather than the 102 which he claimed.

By selling off the gold reserves, our only assets...yeah right <doh>
The gold reserves were sold to build scores of new hospitals and schools after being neglected totally by successive Tory governments. The economy grew an average of 2.5 percent per annum in all the years labour were in power, and the national debt was greatly reduced until the global financial crash. The Tories then doubled the national debt before Covid hit with nothing to show for it and it is now off the scale post covid.

Correct, whilst delivering Austerity, which even they now admit didn’t work.

Was that why the economy was in tatters when the Tories took over? Spunking/wasting most on trade unions

The papers and Tory media said the economy was in tatters, but in reality unemployment was approximately one million and the economy had grown under labour. Thatcher had quadrupled that unemployment figure in just a few short years.

The vast majority where far better off with far more spending money when Labour were in power. The very rich did pay more income tax, but they could afford it.

yep we have a Hindu running the country and a Muslim running our capital.-one that has huge question marks about his and his wife’s tax avoidance. The other that has turned London into a battleground with uncontrolled violence and crime.
The country is well and truly up the creek.

Yeh, it's only R&W who's a 'thinking voter'.
Everyone else on here (apart from Ashton) just votes Tory no matter what.
I think Mindthegap is the same but from a Labour perspective.
They ARE thinking voters too though - they think about WHEN the election is, where the polling station is - how to get there - and who the Tory candidate is to mark their ‘X’ - and how to go home again - it’s quite a mental effort <laugh><laugh>
