Penny M has been nominated and backed by Andrea Leadsom. Starmer would win by a landslide. The BBC are trawling around for anyone to say something derogatory about Boris. Says it all, the left fear Boris.
Boris is on a BA flight returning tonight. Hope R&W doesn't read this, he nor Starmer will sleep tonight and the BBC will be apoplectic
Current backing (source: Daily Fail): Sunak: 100 BJ: 51 Mordant: 22 Boris is back! Ex-PM lands after BA flight home from Caribbean https://mol.im/a/11343205
If Boris gets the vote, a GE will follow shortly afterwards, all the more reason for Kier to stay put. Since falling to their worst result for years at the last election, Labour at present are riding high in the poles, all under Kiers guidance, why would he resign ?
I think 1for meant the vote in a GE, not the internal Tory one - didn’t you 1for? If BJ won a GE it would indeed be humiliating for Starmer - and the Labour movement in general - after all, the Labour Party appointed Starmer as leader. Just like the Tories appoint THEIR wonderful leaders I’m not a Labour supporter btw - I just like fishing for a bite…. In utmost seriousness I can’t stand ANY of them. In a GE, for me it will be trying to choose which utterly incompetent ****bags would fk the country up the least severely.
My politics is pragmatic centre left, this site is very right wing, so many of my posts are for balance, and slightly tongue in cheek.
Stuff all to do with Kier's guidence.......Mickey mouse could have been leader and would be riding high in the polls.....It's what the Tories have done themselves that's created that stat........easily fooled..!!
I don't think this site is very right winged at all........It's more to do with, those that want to get on in life should'nt be penilised for trying.. I have so much respect for those that had nothing, to getting off their arse and making a go of it....And if they become billionaires achieving their goal...brilliant............don't see why they should feel guilty for that.. And yes, I'm also in favour of helping people that are unable to help themselves.........as for those expecting everything on a plate and prefer to let the Country provide, but do nothing in return........I have no time for whatsoever..........
The government always loses popularity rather than opposition gaining it, because governments can do things, oppositions can’t, however the opposition have to be credible and safe, are you saying a Corbyn led Labour Party would be as popular now as a Starmer one, I think not.
Agree with much of this, where I differ is I have equal respect for dustbin operatives, Road sweepers etc, as I do for entrepreneurs, they are less well paid, but work equally hard, a persons wealth or otherwise doesn’t impress me. As an example Care workers work bloody hard and yet get minimum wage, and we wonder why we have difficulty recruiting them.
I don't believe neither are popular, Corbyn for obvious reasons and Starmer for the failings be brought to the table during the so say pandemic .. just that currently the Tories, with everything that's gone on are unpopular..(until they get it sorted!)
I agree, but at the same time, that's their chosen path.. harsh but reality.......(I'm not saying they shouldn't have a decent wage btw)...maybe if the lazy side of society got off their arse and contributed to the system, the problem would be less of an issue..
You've said it. It's well past time for the moaners of either political persuasion to start looking after themselves rather than waiting for a particular shade of government to do it for them. The whole issue is made worse by incompetent politicians sparring with each other with aspirations for themselves rather than the populace they serve. There are a few noteworthy MP's elected to Parliament who are true servants of their electorate, but they're swamped by the self interest of their ambitious leaders. For those of us plebs out here who are able, and not for one minute am I denying there plenty out there who aren't, just get on with it. If you're waiting for a political revolution to solve personal and life issues, dream on. Nothing wrong with discussing it and all the spinoff subjects it generates, but whilst many are wringing their hands about it, others are getting on with it and good luck to them. And I don't comment on these threads..........
He wasn’t able to bring anything to the table during the pandemic he had no power, they say opposition leader is the hardest job in politics, he was in a no win situation, he backed the government for the sake of the country, whilst pointing out how he’d have done things differently (being in opposition) , which made him look like he was duplicitous or “in hindsight “ . You say the tories are unpopular because of everything that’s gone on as though it’s minor or “normal “. It isn’t. Their leader was given a fixed penalty notice while in power, everyone knows he plays fast with the truth, and he’s at present being investigated for possible lying to the house. His replacement bombed the economy in less than 6 weeks. Their answer it seems is a return of the lying cheating one. despite being looked into for lying to the house. You really couldn’t make it up.
