Though baptists and these evangelical types are ****ing annoying. They really do try an brainwash you.

I’m sure I’ve told this story before about my debate in a pub with a load of born again baptists who like to preach their **** at you. I told them god was alien and told them their beliefs were all aliens. They weren’t impressed.

One hot summer many years ago, me and a mate were passing Stoke Newington Common. One of those black evangelical churches were holding an open air service. We sat down to watch from afar, because they had a band on stage and it was all pretty loud, colourful and entertaining. But then the preacher commanded his flock to go out and "bring the Wooooord of the Lord, I say he Wooooorrdd of Gooood my brothers and sisters...." to the people, and before we knew it my mate and I were getting preached at by a couple of quite pretty but deeply annoying young black girls in their Sunday finest church going clothes. They must put off more people than they attract, shoving religion down people's throats like that.

I was in the bookies years ago and this huge old West Indian woman came in and started shouting that we were all going to hell. One old boy turned round and, politely as you like, said "excuse me my dear - that's all well and good but can it wait till I have heard the commentary of the 3 45 at Catterick". That shut her up...

I don't know why people feel the need to do it tbh. It's like the JWs - why would you think it's OK to knock on the door of complete strangers to tell them about God? I'm a devoted piss artist but I don't go knocking on people's doors asking if they'd like to go down the boozer.

The Government has drafted in experts from Finland in an effort to help meet their commitment to eliminate rough sleeping within the next decade.

The Scandinavian country is the only EU member state to have seen a decline in homelessness in recent years.

Meanwhile, in England, rough sleeping has increased for the seventh consecutive year, with official figures revealing more than 4,700 people slept outside in 2017, up 15% on the previous year.

The Government hopes a new taskforce and a £30m fund for those local authorities with high levels of rough sleeping, announced on Friday, will see them fulfil a promise to halve the number of rough sleepers by 2022 and eliminate the problem completely by 2027.

Speaking to Sky News, Communities Secretary Sajid Javid claimed rough sleeping was "completely unacceptable" in a country as rich as Britain.

The number will continue to rise due to the lack of social housing and high private rental costs, especially in London. As per the example posted yesterday, the London Boroughs are being forced to wash their hands of all but the most vulnerable.

It didn’t need a jolly to Finland to figure that out like <doh>

That, plus the rollout of Universal Credit, which housing charities have repeatedly said is being handled in a way that puts vulnerable people at risk.

As for rough sleeping being on the increase since 2010? I wonder what happened in 2010?

Finland, ffs!?..

Have you ever been there? Nobody would survive a winter sleeping rough over there.

Last time I went to Helsinki the whole city was three parts pissed most of the day. Maybe that’s what helps em survive!..

PCSOs were introduced by the Labour government specifically to increase the visible police presence. Since 2010 this ancillary arm of the police has effectively been killed off by austerity cuts.

The increase in the number of motorised, rather than foot patrols, is due to the fact that, er, it's the 21st Century mate. Although there is plenty of evidence to suggest that the public feel more reassured by Bobbies on the beat than patrol cars.

There is a simple correlation here; increase police resources - crime goes down. Cut those resources - crime goes up. Labour government - resources increased. Tory government - resources cut. It's as plain as the nose on your face.

As for private patrols, in any community - it really shouldn't be necessary and it sets a dangerous precedent. But I would say, having lived in Stoke Newington, that I don't think I'd be that bothered by a bunch of Stamford Hill froomers patrolling the streets - they're a pretty law abiding community and not threatening, albeit barely 'integrated' after 200+ years in North London. I never had any of them try to tell me how to dress or behave, or where I could or couldn't go, put it that way.

Actually mate it being the , er, 21st century has very little.to do with it. The police don't believe the patrol car bubbles themselves. Its basically to calm the public

In reality policing has gone from proactive to reactive and crime has gone up as a result and has done so steadily despite the fluffed numbers

I used to actually take community groups complaining about policing to police stations where the officers working was often less than staff at wrights pies. Nothing has changed, in fact under Theresa may as home sec and PM it went from bad to worse

This however does not detract from the fact that the shomrim is wrong

Police station numbers have dwindled

We have a Muslim mayor and White British people are a minority in London where crime has gone through the roof especially violent crime and rape.

So who is commiting all this crime?
