I can't stand petty, small-minded ****s who give threads a 'terrible' rating simply because they don't like the OP.

How sad are they? <laugh>

Only you and Tash give a toss about the star rating system. Tash gives each of his own threads five stars as soon as he posts them. <laugh>

This is the t shirt I hate the most...

<doh>

That horrible misconception deserves to be in this thread too.

Buddha:

edit- And this is if we ignore the fact that Buddhism rejects the belief in gods too. So basically the t shirt should say: I look like the chinese folk character often confused with Buddha.

Aye, it's silly <laugh>. Was playing cricket in the summer with some mates and some guys from our old school were there too so there just hung around (unfortunately for us) and one of them was wearing it. I pointed out that Buddha wasn't a god and I think it just went straight over his head.

Always annoys me.

<doh> Yeah, it makes sense that the sort of person who would wear that t shirt would be of poor intellect in general.

Oh, and whilst I'm here..

Religious teachers who try to crush any notion of free thinking within my school.

Examples are as follows;

- Sex education: When showing the mandatory powerpoint presentation on contraception, we are helpfully provided with the failure rates of the contraceptives just in case we think that sex might be a good idea. Condoms are given a failure rate of '0-20%' <laugh> that's the only one I remember, but other ones had similar failure rates..

- Before showing a video of Tony Robinson (I think that's his name..Baldrick) speaking on behalf of Terry Pratchett on euthanasia, he says 'now make notes on what he says, and note the many flaws in his argument'.

- Refusing to accept that religion has been the cause of any conflict

And so on. It's a Catholic school, if you hadn't guessed.

The only reason i enjoyed those lessons was because i could be a little smart-ass and argue with all the teachers i didn't like in them.

Sounds almost exactly like my school. Bloody religious types <grr>

Yeah I went to a catholic school and their idea of Religious Studies was laughable. Not once did we learn a single thing about another religion and we spent every lesson having to complete work based on the concept that the bible is a good, factual book. By the time I reached the end of school I was an angry little teenage atheist and purposefully failed my exam in it despite being predicted an A <laugh>.

That's the thing though, in the exam all you have to do is say Christianity is good or something of that ilk. But when you compare it to Communism they fail you...as i said before, bloody religious types.

Yeah it was a similar thing for me, did nothing about any other religions apart from ****ing Christianity. I did **** all in my R.E classes, did not revise for it at all and for the questions in the exam just put the answers that I thought would most annoy the examiner and ended up getting 91/100. <laugh>
