So he's an average pl player who didn't stand out in the championship but he's still a lot better than average :)

You asked me what I thought of him in the Championship and I gave you that answer. In the last season of PL he was average PL standard, which drew attention. His versatility was also very credible. :emoticon-0142-happy

I'll try. We need to rebuild; he has that remit and experience. We need an attacking mentality, he has shown that. We need a manager who demands total commitment - MS fell at the last hurdle, for me. As I said the other day, he will, his appearance, his bearing, will demand attention. I may read it all wrong, but there is something about him, beyond a decent C.V. ...

I think you're right. I really liked Silva, but I think he was a bit young and very close in age to some of the players. It's often difficult in those circumstances to get respect. This fella looks like he'll command respect from the off - but in a way the players will respond positively.

I just think an average pl player who is way above an average player (you said) should stand out more in the championship especially as he then moved on for £10 million

Aye. Beter stated than mine. What sort of Election Night brandy are you drinking? :emoticon-0100-smile

Am I missing something - has there been an official announcement of his appointment - don't count your Faberge Imperial eggs before they are opened - there is always a surprise inside

Hate to tell you all but it looks like Slutsky flew back to Moscow, has become a Parlimentarian, and has had radical cosmetic surgery to boot

Go on, what league (I know it's subjective) would you place a average footballer in? Conference (or whatever the **** it is now) for me - see how I gave you a lead? :emoticon-0105-wink:

I think there were times he really did stand out, as did others, but Bruce's tactics and substitutions made it very difficult to come to a qualified opinion. Just to be clear, that is exactly what I posted at that time.

I think Jake would flourish under Slutsky; but there's always others out there.

It's great we have something good to discuss, for a change, whether we talk ****e or not. <ok>

I agree I don't think bruce did Jake any favours and I also posted on here that I thought he (Bruce) was responsible for the demise of Thudd. Bruce had no idea how to play either of them so they both ended up doing the same thing. Silva although he dropped Thudd towards the end looked like he was getting something from Thudd

Ok jakes a top end championship player bottom pl player so maybe that does make him average. He's certainly done nothing at WBA to suggest he's any better than that and normally the fact he got an England call up should blow my opinion out the water but all that proves is you can't play for us and England and we as a nation are getting no better

Jake is an England regular these days.

Just saying...

Either that's a sad indictment of our National team, and he really is a bottom end player...

Or you talk ****.

He'll lose his first one and everyone will want him out, then he'll win the next three and everyone will think we're monties for the title.
