I wonder if it's a matter of the club trying to fast-track the announcement to help with player retention.
If it's only the work permit holding things up, do you think he's given boy blunder a list of players to try and sign?

If reports are true he'll be manager today or tomorrow anyway so don't think it makes a big difference.
I think the Football League allows up to four loans from one club and an unlimited number of loans in total, but only five can be named in a matchday squad.
Fair enough, for some reason I had two in mind because of Akpom/Hayden last time and some memory of that being the limit. Bodes well if we can have more.
The interesting thing is Slutsky, if he is the new boss, has no doubt whilst analysing Chelsea he will have seen the development squad of other squads.

So in theory we could have a small squad & **** load of loans? Not a bad tactic if slut has is eye on a few?
With only five allowed in a matchday squad, I doubt we'd bother with more than six in total.
If we really wanted to stretch it though we could do what some clubs have done and buy a few cheaply with small buy-back clauses for Chelsea.
Is there really a prospect that we are going to sign a large swathe of the Chelsea reserve side? I think this Abramovic link is being grossly overplayed.

Any manager with any links to any other club are instantly assumed to be bringing in a load of players from said club.

Same here, think we will take 2/3 from Chelsea.

Also Slutsky saying he understands the "English rules" (managing lower division first), I am sure he will have done his homework.
Personally I think we will see a complete rebuild of the squad on the cheap:
4 established players (from outgoing transfers fees)
4 development players from top clubs
4-5 quality loans
Couple of free agents
Own youth been promoted,
Could be a very interesting time
In a lot of ways could be like the 10/11 season where we saw majority of squad turned over.
I think it will be, with the 6 loans going back, and realistically at least another 6 set to leave we will need a rebuild.
Would love to see it done with a longer term plan in mind
In that case we can expect to take three years to return to the Premier League. I hooe the owners are preparing to commit to a sustained investment over that period, with an acceptance that after that investment we still may not be promoted.
