How did you rate Llorente on Sunday ?I gave him a 7 on the firpometer scale, a second half 9 after a first half 5. He’s always been ok on the ball. Just Can’t defend, in this league at least… though not helped by two managers who ask a lot of full backs. Thing is Jesse likes his full backs to overlap and give width. So on paper he’s ideal. On grass less so.
Whichever let’s celebrate an excellent second half from the lad.
I know but that comment was aimed at the age thing
I don't actually see our midfield as being any stronger now than it was this time last season
I do if you are including the attackers.
We have more mediocre depth but apart from Adams do we really care if Aaronson or Roca do not play, depth better but strength in midfield is poor. If all were fully fit and available, would you prefer last seasons Dallas, Phillips, Klich in the middle or Adams, Roca, Aaronson
Bugger, slippy fingers:
We are definitely better at defending corners and set pieces. We actually offer a threat from our own corners now. Maybe someone will disprove that with stats, but its an impression. We seem to be shooting more, rather than overplaying in what was Arsenals old style and trying to walk the ball in. The play, when it works, evokes one touch Bielsa ball. I agree that the players seem to switch off and panic under pressure. Bielsaball relied on playing out from the back - so the tactic there hasn't changed, its just badly executed.
I’m not, I just keep getting reminded we sold our best players, but that doesn’t answer the question, which three would you pick? You're forgetting how poor Phillips actually was last season after coming back from injury.

To me there were signs that he might get his mojo back but one misplaced pass (into touch 1st half) and his confidence seemed to take a hit.

Whoever sanctioned the signing of Aaronson and Roca wants speaking to. One look at Wober in midfield and it’s obvious he’s a bit on the chunky side, slow and ponderous, if he’s the answer for a new LB then I’m a China man

Haha. Just too busy TBH. Mainly lurk and read the banter.yes some sensible level-headed stuff from brizzle. Presumably he generally posts on another more sane forum and we’re like a trip out to the dark side for him every now and then
That's a good spot actually, Phillips and Greenwood being moved back. I forgot Bielsa inherited KP as a box to box AM.Last year's 3 of Phillips, Klich and Dallas (although rarely, if ever, played together last year) is massively let down by Klich as he was last season. He had run his race and was a passenger. Dallas is a steady Eddie. I rate Phillips extremely highly btw, very underrated player. I'd just about pick this lot over Adams, Roca and Aaronson but having Phillips in there is the only reason and he wasn't available for most of the season.
Roca does alot of stuff off the ball that I like and he tries to play through the lines but he's no Phillips. Needs to get back to pinging those balls out wide he did earlier this season. Adams is very busy and has started to influence things further forward. I like Aaronson and his energy, he's got quick feet. He thrived early season but he needs to do everything quicker. Needs to build himself up stronger for this league but all is not lost with him. The emergence of Greenwood in that role has been a good move by Marsch who identified him lacking pace up top so moved him back. When Bielsa did that with Phillips he was a genius. When Marsch takes a younger guy and does it....
