Loic Remy doesn't look like he's doing that well in France this year, with pretty poor stats. He got better stats last season but not exactly record were they? IMO he wouldn't be as good as Ba, so why pay him double Ba's salary?

We've had mercenaries who failed to deliver in the past - I think Ashley called this one right, and must be given this transfer window to protect, ie not gamble with his investment. Time will tell.

Cheers <ok>

I think he's right too mate. I'd be very unnerved if we'd been throwing too much at Remy just to get him to sign, without due consideration of our wage structure and the fact he's never played in England, never-mind the fact he barely played in France!

Hopefully we can do the right deals as soon as possible. It may involve increased cost at this point, but it shouldn't be anywhere near Remy's quoted figures! I'd rather the club skirted relegation than bankruptcy!

So long there is a Plan B, fine. Remy is not the only, and not necessarilly the best, striker/attacking winger available.

A failure to strengthen the attack and the central defence (about which there do not even seem to be rumours) by the end of the window will be a serious derlection of duty in my eyes, no matter what the difficulties.

Agreed! I've been patient with the board and will continue to be so, but they really do need a CB in. It doesn't even have to be a world-beater, just one who's better than Williamson and would be a good back-up is fine! Out of the thousands and thousands of defenders out there, they have to be able to do a deal like that!

Reports in the media seem to suggest that Remy never arrived in Newcastle when he was expected. Therefore l suspect that no meetings took place to discuss personal terms with him, possibly his agents.
So maybe he never saw Newcastle or the ground or the facilities. Seems he went straight to London and bypassed us altogether. Quite a turnaround from the done deal that was being suggested.
I expect he will be unveiled today, which is a little galling, but we supporters need to act with dignity as the club have. We are bigger than this and though disappointed, will move on.

If there is any justice in the world we relegate him and QPR at Loftus road.

That's the king game plan now.

I know mate.

Probably unrivaled when it comes to banter when we play them. Always had a good rapport with the Geordies, great bunch imo. Just a bit disapointed in their condescending view on us getting Remy.

In fairness, re-condescending, you're one of the fast shrinking number we can look down on at the moment <ok>

P.s
Nice REP value <laugh>

Yesterdays news, yesterday's man, we move on, l say close it and concentrate on the next linked player we won't sign lol
Just kidding, gotta stay positive.
Hey Gandalf, or should l say, Mr Moderator......!!!!!!!
