I guess you could look at it that way, some of your jobs will 'go back' - but it means giving us the opportunity to set up our own Government departments too, staffed & run up here by us and for us, rather than having to rely on England or Wales.

Do you not worry about the cost of all this additional Government along with losing the jobs in places like Student Finance England and Faslane? The number of "new jobs" will be huge - passports, replacement for the BBC, driving licences and vehicle excise, customs & excise, border controls, NHS...to name just a few. I just cannot see how it can be funded...

Voting yes is akin to making the statement "I'm an ignorant nationalist who can't assimilate facts to make the right decision" pray tell what is the benefit of independence? Lose the Scottish ego and look at the facts. This place costs a fortune to run as it is with subsidies from England needed to maintain the current status quo, add the costs of independence, let salmond destroy tourism, the oil revenues are dropping like a stone and not a good environment for us to invest the billions needed for tough oil, the bright spark is whisky but that doesn't support a nation.

Evening Hornets, those who know me well enough from the good old days of 606 know i'm not the gloating kind so I just wanted to say commiserations for Monday,I've been on the wrong end of a result in a final before and know how it feels.

What i would say is that post match the Watford fans I met outside Wembley and at the Wembley Park tube station were a credit to your club,no animosity from either sets of fans, just a mutual respect for a bloody tough season.

I genuinely hope you continue to progress under Zola and we'll meet again soon, always an interesting and lively encounter.

Sadly still no contact from SLB but i'll keep looking.

Finally,Leonardo I really hope all is well in the future, you have made many of us remember that there are far more important things in life than football.

Until next time.

Hil.

I watched the game in a pub 1 stop from Wembely as i couldn't get a ticket. There were 4 Palace fans there who were in the same boat. Watched the whole game with them and we had a really good laugh - the result was obviously very disappointing but there wasn't much in the way of real gloating and they even bought my brother and me a pint afterwards.

I can honestly say that given what was at stake and the tense nature of the game they were quite possibly the friendliest and most decent opposition fans i;'ve ever watched a match with.

Good luck next season and thank you for posting your message.

Morning all

Cloud is shifting so off to walk around Gribbin Head today...sandwiches en route and a pub stop at the end. Good to hear that opposition fans can still enjoy a game together. I watched the Leeds play off in the south of France with half a dozen Leeds fans and it was most enjoyable...though they did leave before the end<laugh>

Morning all, thanks for the caramel latte Ak :)

Nothing personal guys, but as it is the end of the season I am going to have a break from the board until before the start of next season.

Enjoy the summer all and look forward to the start of next season! <magic>

Have a wonderful summer, see you in August!

Today has been a good day

Hospital confirmed that there has been no more growth in the cancer. The blood clot might take months to go but apparently it will as Mrs L is now on Heparin injections and her blood tests are all good. TMI for most of you but it makes me happy.

Also booked the removal firm and arranged to pick up the keys in Guildford on Friday

About to book a phone, broadband and telly - and sure it will not take the 7 weeks it took when we came here.

A happy little Leo

All wonderful news Leonardo, lots of happy smiling going on here for you!

Great news... all the very best :)

Back to the island this evening very tired to find a letter from the hospital telling me that my neurology appointment scheduled for October has been moved to 2 weeks time and instead of seeing the registrar, I'm back to seeing the consultant. Nothing to panic about, just that I saw my GP about 10 days ago and said that I thought that the part of my medication that I can only get through a hospital prescription might be a reason that it's taking me longer to get to sleep at nights. When it first happened, I did think that it might be to do with my move, but that was last month and things should've got back to normal by now.

Fingers crossed..

Morning all, thanks for the caramel latte Ak :)

Thanks H. Need to keep off this!

Morning all. I won't say 'good' because it isn't. Dark and gloomy here in Essex. Hopefully the weather will improve later in the day.

Weather lifting a little here..... this is summer???

Just read this. Brilliant, Leo! Absolutely brilliant!

Good day all, just back from the South into Rural France and trying to catch up on all the news and comments.

First of all must say just how pleased I was to read your news Leo. As said above there are some things more important than football. <ok>

My play off final coverage just went badly wrong. Found a reasonable WiFi connection and could see the teams come out. Three minutes into the game the connection was switched off. Found a poor signal and could hear Jon Marks, but then that dropped out and didn't return until the second half. It continued to drop in and out and didn't come back for good until the penalty. I suspect that I managed about 20 minutes in total. <doh>

Returned back and find that I have managed to pick up a speeding fine. Seems that I was doing 5 kmh above the limit of 80. The allowable amount for camera error at that speed is 1 kmh. Cough up €45, or dispute it. How can you say the machine is wrong when you don't know? Still that is actually the first fine in 50 years of driving, so suppose I have got away with it long enough.

Weather lifting a little here..... this is summer???

Meteorologically, May 29 is still Spring - June 1 being first day of Summer for the Met Office. Traditionally however, June 21/22 always was the first day of Summer (Solstice). Frequently, September is warmer than June, so why it is treated as Autumn by the Met Office beats me......

But I do take your point about the weather - apart from a few decent days (Monday's sun was spoilt, in the end of course), we have the most dismal cold, wet last 3 months leading to everything in the garden and countryside being weeks late into leaf/bloom. I'm not sure if this has been the case in ofh's part of the world.
