Northamptonshire this morning

Ah. Makes it look lovely. Which in the case of Northamptonshire is no mean feat! (JOKE alert!)

Snowed on me all the way from about Staffordshire last night, but not a flake in Chester. Feel positively cheated. Grabbing grandchildren and off into North Wales. Broken bones and arthritic pain awaits! Come on, FLT, arse in gear lad.

Thalidomide is still used, but sadly pregnant women was the one group it shouldn't have been used for. I think they actually ignored some warning signs, rather than it being something unexpected (if I remember correctly).

My memory, and it ain't what it was, is that the cover-up was scandalous. **** happens, but for a company to cynically ignore/cover up evidence is something else. Like tobacco companies who constantly screamed foul when evidence about lung cancer was being presented. Mistakes I can forgive - even dreadful ones. Cover ups are unforgivable (Stephen Lawrence; The Birmingham Six; Hillsborough ...).

I've already done the paper rounds with them and snowballs. Now I'm thawed out and had my oats (the porridge variety!) I'm settling in!!

What's it like up there? Am I going to get to see Liverpool/United on the television?

I had a girlfriend and her father had a "withered" arm from those drugs his mother had taken whilst pregnant.

I'm surprised at you, FLT. Up there? You should know there's no rules "up here". Chester is usually a snow free zone (local global warming courtesy of Shell) so I can't tell. It was snowing like the clappers in Manchester last night when I was coming past, but unless it was very different at the other end of the East Lancs Road I would tip the game is on. Oh, and am I alone in wanting a United win?

Thanks.

Tough call on the game... Preferred result 0-0, however if you squeeze my knackers hard enough, I'll go for 1-0 United (Caulker) :)

Ps. You are not far wrong about Northampton (town) but the county has some lovely spots, just none of the big towns!!

Sure it does. I spent a year in Northampton one evening. One of those places I'm not racing back to! But meanwhile, back at the game. I'll pass on the opportunity to squeeze your knackers, mate. Kind offer and all that. I want a scrappy 1-0 with Morgan scoring from 30 yards (to shut up the armchair fan next door who says he is a waste of money). This will do bugger all for United's confidence, and ensure a good evening by the fire in the pub where I will be surrounded by Liverpool fans. See, that's how shallow I am.

Ergh FA are a joke. My football match called off today, guess why?

Nope not because the pitch was waterlogged, but because the grass was under a cm too high... Kept the fees though and fined us. But wait who cuts the grass on our pitch? Oh yeah that's the council so why aren't they getting the fine.

No wonder clubs are folding.

Waterlogged? Ours are lying under snow!

Mo presume it's the local FA, Beefy and these organisations are usually awful and run by administrative people rather than football people.

Least they didn't get fined for grass being a little too long. My manager phoned the council guy and asked about the grass. He said he didn't cut it because of the rain. So the club is out £200 when it isn't at fault.

You should actually email the main FA, let them know and write a polite but questioning letter, asking how they expect teams to put up with that. You may be surprised by the response.

"Football for Everyone" is a big mantra for them. Got to be worth a try.
