Been reading about this and saw an article on Dustin Johnson and his reasons behind playing in it.

A quote from him in the article after mentions he had £72 million in winnings already in his career and has joined up for a reported £150 million was... "I don't want to play golf for my whole life and this is a chance to make that happen"

A bloke with only £72 million in winnings and worried he might have to play golf all his life? He must have expensive taste or a serious Charlie habit

Well.. DJ took a year (?) out of golf and nobody has made public the reason why!

It is supposed it was a drug habit but the uspga has never leaked...

Castle Eden is looking mighty fine at the minute. The greens are best they've been for a long time. The only issue is the course will bake in this heat and it will become unplayable, just in time for the Club Championships this weekend.
Best I’ve ever seen it, the greens were fantastic yesterday. In fact I wrote an email to the secretary to congratulate everyone on their efforts.
I’ve promised to drag @farnboromackem up for a game shortly.

I miss playing on the North East courses, I was a member at Ramside, but often played at others such as Castle Eden, Matfen Hall and Brancepeth Castle...superb courses and nothing better when the weather allows

Played this morning and the fairway were hard with the odd bad bounce, and a club less into greens.

Rain forecast for Saturday so could be uncomfortable for those in Round 1 and the 3rd division. Sunday might have a little more give in it.

What a putt. I've got my beers in watching the end of this. Plenty of twists and turns yet. 3- in the clubhouse looks a decent score.
