Morning all golfers and non golfers.
If you play let everyone know where and how you did.
I am a total golf nut so am out golfing twice a week and do a little practice when i can, play off 12 now and should be off less due to how much time i spend at the club.
Any stories about golf, pictures etc. pop em down on here.

I'm a total golf nut as well Crumble. I play twice a week here in Abu Dhabi, Tuesday night under the floodlights and on Friday mornings with my society. I play off an 8 handicap and right now I'm playing to that. A few photo's of the course at Saadiyat Beach Golf Club. The guy in the photo is not me (he had to take a drop after going in the water. The other is the little Arabian deer that run around this course, so cute.

Nice, must be nice to play in the sun most of the time, holiday golf we call that.
I am looking forward to Turkey later in the year for a lads week away.
Playing 6 games in 7 days. 5 are for our trophy we play for and the other game we are have some kind of team game.
The pro from our club organises it and he comes out with us, He is "one of the lads" so its a pretty fierce tournament as he hates losing.
We play him off +2 which isn't enough.

    would that be Greg Norman?
Never played or met any proper golfers other than Justin Rose, just used to watch him when he was a kid practicing.
he would chip hundreds of balls to a hole, then go pick em up and do it all over again.
can see why he turned out so good with all that practice.

My avatar is from a course around Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Either TPC, Blue or Caledonia. Can't remember which one now.

One of our posters, lives out there guys. You should make him your best mate, get an invite out there <whistle>

Remember you explaining your avatar while back.
I saw a snake last time out in Turkey.
It was only a little one about 5 foot long, went to pick it up with my putter and the other lads in the group ****ed off the cowards.
Anyway the snake slithered off into the lake, never knew what kind it was?

I lived in the States for a while and played many times in Myrtle Beach, I'm actually buying a condo out there soon so hopefully I will play there more. I'm off to Portugal with my big brother in 2 weeks to play 6 rounds, I can't wait.

Because that is supposed to be how many shots you need to go round the course to equal par.
If a course is a par 72 and you are a scratch golfer, playing off 0, that means that you should play the course hitting 72 shots.
I am a 12 handicapper so i should play the course hitting 84 shots (72 + my handicap of 12)
A handicap is just the level of golfer you are, don't know why its called a handicap? The lower the handicap the better the golfer, the most you can have in the Uk is 28 if you are a man and 36 if you are a women.

One of the lads who I used to play golf and pool with before I moved works for Nike. He's played with Lee Westwood a few times. Meets a lot of the pro's obviously, with his job.

Went up to watch the Dunhill Pro-Am a few years ago. There's a famous pub, The Jigger Inn, next to the course. Had lunch next to Darren Clarke (another guinness man!), and a few others Lamby and Beefy.
Drinking alongside Thomas Bjorn, Paul McGinley, in the evening.

Its a great tournament to go and watch. We were chatting with some ex-footballers on the practice day on some of the tee-boxes. Good craic with Jamie Redknapp, a real down to earth lad, Ruud Gullit, less so, and the likes of Bill Murray who was just great!

Thats my name-dropping done for the day.
