Isn't Bristol another city where they mysteriously refer to us as 'scummers'? I remember going to a few raves up there in my uni days and heard it several times, all in in good jest, mind. A lot of the artistic and musical talent from Southampton ends up in Bristol, as it's the only place in the south outside London with a respectable scene. I used to meet a lot of ex-Southampton people up there. Guess it's the same for Pompey folks as well, so they probably take the 'scummers' nickname with them.

Brighton has a good scene too...(and also call us scummers, for some reason).

We remember so much of the 2011-12 season so clearly and so fondly.

I do wonder if Norwich fans can even differentiate between promotion seasons in their minds?

Owner more interested in rugby. Cheaper to make them good than the football team. Invested quite heavily probably about a decade ago in the playing side (David James signed on big wages) but didn’t work out and been more prudent on the playing side since.

Has invested in the infrastructure though so should breed some success you’d think. City the size of Bristol should’ve had more success on the football front but is what it is
