I live in Wymondham now, so Big Fry is our local Chippy. They are actually pretty damn good, never had a bad order from there.
I can't have Wymondham chip shops being discussed without speaking up for Woodbine's on Pople Street, you should give it a try. When I used to live in Wymondham I always thought it was the best, and not just because I worked there for a stint!

Oh yea? Is that the quiet modern looking one set pretty deep into the building? Iv walked past that on the way walking to The Kett. Always looks nice and meaning to try it, but never have yet. Might even go there tonight!

Funnily enough Mel took that shop over, I may be wrong but I think you'll find his son Christian now runs it.

Would you believe they're debating Fish 'n' Chips on Radio Norfolk right now ! <laugh>

Not sure of the owner's name, but he's Spanish I think and lives somewhere in Old Costessey.

I think the new owner took over some 20 years or so ago now and I don't think his wife works there. The queue on a Friday evening can be quite long, but definitely worth waiting for and he's open late if you fancy a poke of chips after a few beers.

Dave - quite a few people rave about the Grosvenor chippy at the bottom of Lower Gate Lane. I wouldn't like to try Hot Chip or the one in Orford Plaice.

When I used to go to City College I some times nipped into the centre for chips from the Grosvenor, it wasn't bad back then, but then as a poor student I discovered "Ron's" on the market and that is my go to, cheap and cheerful chippy in Norwich. It's always pretty good and cheap.
Has Norwich got one of those bang average George's yet? I realise some folk are picky/squimish and probably like having the skin removed before frying, but half the flavour goes with it, in addition they ain't cheap. That said they are consistent so if it's that or one like i used to visit in West Bridgford, some times good, but terrible if quiet - the fish was often pre-fried and sat in the hot box too long and dried out and developed that after taste! I'd go for consistently OK.
As a current midlander it's bloomin hard to get top fish n chips, but I have recently discovered an award winning one local to me called "the cods scallops". It really is the dog's cahonies and the only chippy that I've been to that comes close to the "Chip inn". The common theme being they both use animal fat to fry in. It's a taste sensation accept no substitute!

Bah!

I saw it on the news this morning. Must be doubly gutting, as it's right at the start of the busiest part of their season when they'd expect to do most of their trade.

Does anyone have BT Sport and have to airplay it from a tablet? BT Sport 2, isn't air playing AGAIN! This company is f**king useless.

Is there a different way of doing it to get the service I'm bloody paying for? It won't airplay other than sound, and it wont let you mirror the phone or ipad.

Got help on twitter. Anyone having trouble. You have to go to BT Sport 1, airplay it, then while it's airplaying and streaming, switch to BT Sport 2. And it works.

Just watched Notts Outlaws beat my Essex Eagles in the first T20 cricket quarter final.
Crowd of 13,500 at Trent Bridge for the game - which compares to 12,641 at Ewood park on Saturday for the first day of a new season? <yikes>

There was a match day experience video on the TNC youtube channel. The ground looked dead. They closed the upper tier of the opposite end stand to the Norwich fans, and there was sooo many empty seats all along both sides. A bit sad really. Opening game of the season, doesn't look good for the future of Blackburn.
