Use to use the Chinese, was still nice when I last got one. Was probably about 3 years ago. They have turned one of the houses opposite the bakers into a fine dining restaurant. Can't remember what it's called. My parents have been and said it was nice. There are very few other reasons that anyone might stop in long stratton.
The Indian takeaway is passable I suppose.
If you were waiting for that takeaway to cook, you could stop in one of the pubs.
It has a cash machine
And a petrol station
I think thats it? Any representatives of Long Stratton tourist information that might have any other marvels of Stratton that we can visit with our fresh tasty Haddock and chips?
Is the chinese any good these days? It wasn't great 10 odd years ago, probably the last time i would have used it. I always prefered Rhinos, though that was more for playing Bomb Jack than the food.
Traffic is a nightmare as FML says.
Bah!

There's a subway in the coop now. I'm sure that will bring in the tourists.
OK, I'll speak up for the Stafford Street chippy in Norwich - been going there for years.
I have to agree that the Chip Inn is also rather good.
Crikey that brings back fond memories Braveheart, the family home was on St Philips Road and back in the seventies just up the road from the Fish 'n' Chip shop was a greengrocer where my Mum worked. Mel owned the Chippy back then and people would travel miles for his Fish 'n' Chips, the queue on a Saturday lunch time would sometimes stretch around the corner into Alexandra Road nearly as far as Brown's Butchers ! In the evenings us kids would go for our chips just before closing and if Mel's missus (who's name escapes me), was at the till we'd get huge portions and loads of 'scraps', happy days![]()
I think the new owner took over some 20 years or so ago now and I don't think his wife works there. The queue on a Friday evening can be quite long, but definitely worth waiting for and he's open late if you fancy a poke of chips after a few beers.
Dave - quite a few people rave about the Grosvenor chippy at the bottom of Lower Gate Lane. I wouldn't like to try Hot Chip or the one in Orford Plaice.
