There was a match day experience video on the TNC youtube channel. The ground looked dead. They closed the upper tier of the opposite end stand to the Norwich fans, and there was sooo many empty seats all along both sides. A bit sad really. Opening game of the season, doesn't look good for the future of Blackburn.

Yes, the takeover by Venky's has alienated a large part of Blackburn fans (I used to work with one, so be careful what you wish for KIO!!).. Also, rugby league and cricket is big around there, so lots of competing sports for fans.

I've never been to Cromer before. Thinking of having an explore on Sunday for a little day trip. Any advice on things to do, things to see etc etc?

Don't forget it's bang in the middle of skool hols, so the town is rammed with people from Leicestershire, squawking kids, dogs, the stench of bloody greasy chips and vinegar, men (who should know better) parading around the town without frickin' shirts on <grr> etc.
Apart from that, it's charming. The church is impressive and you can climb the tower for views extraordinaire, and there's a quaint little museum next door, a lifeboat museum on the seafront, a few pubs (Red Lion best for decent ale, Wellington for sky sports coverage)
Plus nice walks up the cliff path - all the way to Overstrand, if you fancy a bit of exercise.
More charity shops than you can shake a crab sandwich at but we're not alone in that regard <laugh>
We could meet up for an ale and to say hi, if it's convenient?

Thanks Cromer!

Will it really be that bad? People wise? If it's going to be murder to park and get on the beach/pier etc, then I might delay the trip. Not having kids, I totally forgot about School holidays.

If the weather is good, the pier and beach will be rammed. If raining, the pubs, shops and amusement arcades will be totally rammed. Not too bad for the odd day out, but when you live here <grr>
I'm not trying to deter you, just a cautionary tale <ok>

No, thanks for that. Totally didn't think about Summer holiday. It might be best to delay it a bit. Do schools start again in September usually?

I was in Cromer at the weekend, as it happens. Went for a wander along the happy valley (valleys in Norfolk?!) walk, pleasant enough and then had a picnic overlooking the sea.
