How can they justify charging "corkage" when they
do not sell alcohol themselves?????
It's pretty widespread in umlicensed premises, they'll tell you there are dirty glasses, etc to wash after you've left - plus it goes some way to clawing back the profit they're not making on charging outlandish prices for crap wine <grr>
Better to take your own decent bottle and they slap on £5 than pay extortionate prices for filth!

Edit-Braveheart had far less to type than me, that's why I'm late replying - and duplicated his words...with waffle <laugh>

Off to a business lunch very shortly at 'The Black Boys' in Aylsham followed by an all afternoon drinking session in the City, it's a hard life but someone's gotta do it ! <cheers>

Went to Namaste Indian last night and the food was very good - had a cheesy Dosa. I'll definetely be going back another time.

I note the selectivity there of "British" and "Police" I suppose the French don't count, or the holidaymakers in Tunisia. These attempts to play down the seriousness of the terror situation is going to rebound on those doing it. Which is pretty much everyone, I expect to see Dave waving a piece of paper and saying "Peace for our time"

Is it really meant to play down the threat of terrorism, or satirise the ridiculous gun laws in the USA? I read it as the latter.

FFS :(
I despair at this country sometimes.
So, if you want to visit - and enjoy the wildlife and serenity of the Broads, the Peak district, Dartmoor, etc do it pretty damn soon - or the chance will be gone :(
Sometimes (not often, mind) I'm quite pleased that I'm the wrong side of 60 - only just, mind, because if I was 20 and growing up today, what the **** would my future be like!? :emoticon-0106-cryin
