Way off topic, but just seen this site, where musicians and critics rate their 101 best ever Beatles songs in descending order. (Most have an option to play the youtube video)
Such groundbreaking stuff - much of it 50 years ago now! <yikes>

Thanks for the suggestions. Australia does a lot of good food from all corners of the globe, but Indian is not one of them!

Excited for this trip (not just because of a curry). Be good to see family and friends again and a pal has a season ticket going spare for the Villa game. This will be my first game back at Carrow Rd in a long time. My last game was against Forest when Delia brought Huckerby onto the pitch at half time to announce he was signing permanently. Yes it's been a while.

It's very strange yet interesting lens to view the home city through when returning after some years. Some of the changes to the city are incredibly odd to digest (the changes to the Market were the hardest to comprehend for me) and yet Norwich retains so much of its soul, and I love my sporadic visits back. The beer still tastes amazing and the banter never loses its edge.. Have a great time mate

Just seen this video of the weather radar of the rainfall around Keswick on Saturday - it looks absolutely horrendous and it's going to take years and £Ms to repair some of the damage and I'm sure parts of the area ill never be the same. I don't think any flood defences could have coped with the rainfall they had in such a short space of time. http://www.bbc.co.uk/weather/features/35019395

Shame the game is not at Villa Park HMQC, Edgbaston has lots of really good curry houses.

I don't recall using that terminology, squire? I acknowledged that your fairy lights were subtle, not 'brash' and 'garish', but aside from that, it's still a festering carbuncle on the face of the planet <ok>
Anything else needs clarification while I'm here? <laugh> :emoticon-0105-wink:

Just seen this on twitter in the light of some recent comments by Donald Trump:
Top marks to whoever came up with this (attributed) comment <ok>

"Britain so radicalised its favourite TV show is called Koran Nation Street".

On curry houses is Oasis still going. That used to be pretty good havent been in years though.

A bit further out the Spice of India in Horsford is excellent.

For Oasis, read Mint Room or whatever it's called and don't rate it as either.
My favourite has to be Merchants of Spice - a little more expensive, but you get a good sized dish and more meat than some of the others.
Trying Namaste (vegetarian Indian on Thursday!!)

Someone recommended Namaste (Opie St, just off Castle Meadow) to me only yesterday.
I see they have stuff like matar paneer, which I love. They don't sell alcohol - and are not keen on it, apparently, but you can take your own beer or wine for a nominal corkage charge.

Yes, that's the one - I'm taking a 660ml bottle of Staropramen (£.1.95 in Aldi) and paying the 'corkage' about £1.50 for beer and £4.95 for a bottle of wine.

How can they justify charging "corkage" when they
    do not sell alcohol themselves?????
