Ruuds first game and the axe falls on Waes. Coady and Vestegaard, I’m 52 and I reckon I could do them for pace. At first glance I thought Milkman was playing in defence for them, I really should get my eyes tested.

Need a robust presence against Antonio ... not a big Coady fan ... but a chance for all to stake a claim ... and positive to see both Buenanotte and El Khannouss getting a start ...

Hard working performance for a change. I am still chuckling that it took WHU 95 minutes to score - the chances they wasted/we blocked. Dont know what was said to JJ at half time but he was the player we know and love second half. Three well taken goals, and even we could have had a few more. I really think there is no better goalkeeper in the Premier League than Hermandsen. Resisted Amazon Prime for a few years, but glad I changed my mind about it. I think my bum will stop twitching in about 30 minutes. Well done lads, on to the next one.

Although there's clearly a lot of work still to do, there was a lot more cohesion and effort in that game and instead of watching the opposition waltz in and score, we actually got close enough to do some bodies on the line defending. If Ruud has managed that improvement in 2 days I'm optimistic for the coming months.
That win will do a lot for everyone's confidence.

We're not aiming for Europe, we just need to be less sh1t than 3 of the other sh1t teams, this season.

Plus, we've breached the magic 11 points <laugh>

11 points. We are still behind what we had at the same stage last time we were in the Prem, and we won our next game. However, things are certainly a lot brighter than they were a week ago. This week its Brighton so no Bounanotte, don't expect it but would love to see Alves in the matchday squad.

Do not leave before the end, is my free top tip of the day.
A good section of people near us left when the 2nd Brighton goal went in. And, it was freezing and very wet, so it was tempting <laugh>
The joy of those 2 late goals were worth it, though.

Obviously, still things to work on but we're a sight better than we were this time last week. Far more determination and a better work rate. It's clear they're actually working to a plan. It's not all going to plan but, there definitely is one. Which, is also better than the last few weeks.

A good 4 points this week <cheers>

The 'impartial' pundit Steve Sutton is predicting a 'quite straightforward' 3-0 Newcastle win - apparently he didn't like the way we treated Steve Cooper ...

... he'd much rather Cooper was steering us to relegation...<laugh>

He didn't like that we 'stole' Brendan and he's really not over it. But, always happy with him predicting a defeat.
Newcastle have been unpredictable this season. Probably not as unpredictable as us. Anything could happen to be honest <laugh>
I thought we had a bad record up there but it's apparently 5 wins from 8.

3 academy lads bren training with the first team this week - really impressed with RvN's approach in that regard ...

On another forum, one of the posters is friends with an academy coach. RVN has already spoken to said coach numerous times regarding the academy players. Apparently he had never even spoken with Cooper.
