Off to a good start in the pre season fixtures. Lost 1-2 to notts County, 2 goals from set pieces....

Watched it on YouTube... first half had Barnes, Daka, Dewsbury-Hall, Choudhry, Soumare, Fofana and Pereira in line up... we were well on top - took lead and hit post before they got a very scrappy equaliser ... 11 changes at half-time with Iheanacho and 10 academy lads ... not that surprising that we conceded tbf ... they had a lot of seasoned pros...

One bright spark in the first half was Callum Wilson ...

whilst Hamza Choudhury was the best player on the pitch.

Thats not Wright.

Thought Dennis Praet was excellent in yesterday’s friendly against OH Leuven. Only played 45 minutes, but showed us what he can do. Gets forward we’ll and not afraid to shoot.
Also though Evans was excellent.

He must have played well if Brendan gave him 45 minutes! Usually it's 5 minutes at best and then get hooked off and replaced by Perez.

I do wonder what the relationship between manager and player is, and whether we'll ever see him play a part next season.

On a different forum I read that the primary issue with Praet was the family not being settled in England. I've always thought he was decent but if the above is the case, rather than Brendan not being a fan, that's more difficult to resolve

Agreed... all a bit strange on the transfer front at the moment

In normal circumstances all of our players seem to do a bit of socialising and what not. Do wonder the effect of Covid. It would've been very different and difficult to move to a new country and then find yourself in complete lock down, no opportunity to make new friends but be so far away from your family etc. It certainly wouldn't help you feel settled.

The current transfer window is like watching tumbleweed... and 3 weeks to ko...

Although we have always liked our signings under the radar.
