So Sterling and Wilshere in. Drinkwater and Townsend out.

I despair of England sometimes.

Leave out one of this season's most consistent midfielders and a winger who is on top form and keep 2 players who have hardly played 90 minutes between them all season and who didn't last the pace in either of the friendlies.

The fact is Drinkwater is completely new to international football. A tournament is not the right time to blood him IMO. Whether he should have been picked for England earlier is another debate but I actually agree with the decision to leave him out given how little time he's spent in the squad.

Not long until Wales' squad is announced. No surprises expected for us, apart from Joe Ledley being included after breaking his leg earlier this month. Maybe he won't play in the early rounds but we'll need him for the final :emoticon-0136-giggl

I read about that at the time and they were talking about him maybe making the Euros. What form of breakage was it that allows him to play so soon afterwards.?

I was just about to post the same thing. The only difference is that I gave up despairing years ago. Otherwise it's all you do regards England FC.

Drinkwater, I can understand. But for an unfit Wilshere.? Jeez.

Watching 'Shy' Sports News and the tape at the bottom of screen I see England are taking Dier Lallana, are we hoping for divine Tibetan intervention?

I don't know, to be honest but Chris Coleman said today, "With this type of injury, he's ahead of the curve. We think he's got a good chance for that [Slovakia] game."

I also see that Ross Barkley is in and he's well out of form too.

When football commentators say England managers should play their best players, they don't mean historically best. They mean best in-form.

But he's had no international experience in competitive games.

Why is that necessary? What experience - of losing to Costarica and such? Honestly, I've never heard this argument anywhere but in english media and forums. Others don't speak of international experience, they just bring their best players.
