We forget the wider picture, the cultures that these people are coming from very much adhere to this sort of system, this has a negative effect on the countries that those people will then move to.

First part of your second sentence is very Islamophobic and racist. And when all else fails just talk about other religions...

In what world is my statement islamaphobic and racist?? I love to hear your explanation!

There is no wider picture. Certain elements in Islam believe that women are subservient to men, not all.

Plus your assertion ignores the fact that Muslim countries, such as Pakistan, have had Female leaders.

We are talking about basic maths because you don't understand the numbers, you dolt.

Stick with the original question cupcake. We are not talking about maths in the general scene.

What the Lib Dems gained is nothing of note, because they had only a few votes in the first place.

So

5% of nothing is still nothing.

I will leave you to it, I have things to do.

Good evening all, its sparing time :emoticon-0170-ninja

By that logic if they got 100% of the vote it would be meaningless. Their vote share doubled. Percentages confuse you.

It doesn't really work like that, humans are capable of being inhuman, this is demonstrated by women being treated as lesser people than men in Islam.

I know they have no legal jurisdiction, but they are still allowed to operate and I am willing to bet that nothing serious will done about them, they have enough support to continue and will undoubtedly be used as another tool for the UK to help Muslims 'integrate'. I think I'd disagree with the whole 'voluntary' element of it too, considering the whole issue with forced marriages and what not.
It's not inhuman. It's ****, but it's not inhuman.

I'm not particularly sold on religious courts as civil arbitration either, though I'm not convinced by your reasoning.
There's a question of how voluntary it really is in a religious community.
Is regulation the answer? Maybe. They'll exist anyway and I can't really see how you can outlaw them.

What do they have to do with forced marriages?

What level Dan are you?

not sure if you've noticed lads but wife beating is not just an Islamic trait.......in fact domestic violence against women is very much alive and kicking in western world..............so please don't generalise for your own needs <ok>

Not trying to get too involved with this but would you call women being stoned to death inhuman?
Yes. I'm not defending Islam or Sharia, just to clarify my position.
The Abrahamic religions all use stoning as a punishment for various things and I'm against the death penalty.
