Population of England and Wales approx 55 million. Number of released killers who commit homicides on average per year 3.5 Therefore chance of one then killing a particular menber of the populace approx 18 million to one. Which bit of that explanation does not take the population into account.

I think you have demonstrated very well that you don't understand statistics. People tend to get killed by somebody who is known to them.
Do you think you need an accountant? Do you think you can afford an accountant?

It's not just people who have already murdered. Even people who have never murdered before tend to kill people they know.

I do have an accountant, but if I couldn't afford one I wouldn't have one would I.
I know most murderers are known to the victim but obviously they have no idea that they will be murdered, so on average you have a 70,000 to 1 chance of being murdered by a first offender but an 18 million to 1 chance by a repeat offender.
I do understand statistics. I am just coming just coming up wth deductions that you do not accept and with answers you don't want to see.

I suggested the numbers approach with my very first comment, but you and your buddies were too thick to grasp it, and instead tried and failed to rejig the argument.
