Great move for Ba if so although he'll be benched as Rafa/Torres are very close. Torres always needs to be a main man lone ranger to work.

Anyone watching the Everton game will have heard Ba having a meeting with Chelsea this evening, looks like he's definitely intent on leaving, although Sky have emphasized no offers have been made!

Looking at Cisses comments yesterday, I reckon the board have said "sign the contract or go now"

To be fair I can't hold to much against him if he goes to Chelsea, they are a big club. As long as he doesn't go to Liverpool or QPR.

Would it really be a great move though?

Financially it'll be great for him until the end of the season but I can imagine Chelsea signing Falcao in the summer. And lets just say with all the attacking midfielders they've got they won't be going 4-4-2, so Ba will be pushed aside in the summer anyway. He should be thinking longer term, and go to a club that won't have the cash to splash on a world class player in 6 months time like Chelsea will.

Newcastle United frontman Demba Ba will reportedly discuss a transfer to Chelsea over the coming days.

The Senegalese international has long been linked with a move away from St James' Park, where he is believed to have a release clause in his contract worth in the region of £7m.

It had been claimed that both Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain were keen to meet that valuation during the upcoming transfer window.

However, European champions Chelsea have stolen a march on their rivals by making an approach to Newcastle and the 27-year-old over a move, according to Sky Sports News.

The report has also suggested that the two parties will meet in the near future in the hope that a deal can be concluded early next month.

Ba joined the Magpies in the summer of 2011 from West Ham United on a free transfer.

What comments?

You said something about Cisse's comments?

No, that was Warm Pouch, just trying to find those comments myself, I was unaware of them!

Reported in various places, I thought they were common knowledge. The source is The Sun though......................

To be honest I take all reports regarding Ba with a pinch of salt as we had just as much speculation in the summer. He was reported to be in various places on deadline day <laugh>
