Hoops would be his better bet because buying back is often a mistake. He'd be facing the same defences at West Ham and as he's not good at scoring against them for us then it would be the same at West Ham. Thank you JD but move down a league and come up with Harry next season for a season and then go.

Reading what he has been saying,i don't think he will go,even though he isn't getting a lot of playing time,as he say's he loves the club, and it caused him pain leaving before, maybe Harry can tempt him,i would be suprised if he went back to the Spammers

What is this rubbish! Is there a syndrome called let's get rid of the player. Defoe is fine he does the job asked of him shows loyalty to Spurs and scores goals.

He is a good striker and sceaming for a new one (we just spent 26million on one btw) smacks of spoilt brats which I suspoect some of you are.

I should of added,i want him to stay, and the way Soldado is going, we will need him.

Well Spurf, I'm not going to change my opinion because you consider me a spoilt brat and if that is a moderator's opinion on those members of the site who think that Defoe should leave and we get a new striker in in January then please remove my name from the member's list.

I think you need to distinguish between mods posting as fans and their modding duties. Spurf is as entitled to his opinion as anyone - although coming from a mod doesn't give it any more weight. I'm sure his remarks are more tongue in cheek anyway.

Wouldn't surprise me to see Redknapp trying to reform his old favourite partnership of Defoe and Crouch, either in January or more likely in the summer.
Still do a decent job in the Premier League, in my opinion.

Calm down TMT. Do you need some green tea or something? I will make you a cup, you're not in Kent are you?

Bee-haive !!!, Nobody on this thread has called you anything, directly., but even if they had, I'm sure we all have heard worse. :emoticon-0103-cool:

I agree with this.

My beef with Defoe is not that he isn't a Prem-quality striker, merely that he is not a top 4 quality striker. If we have no aspirations of top 4 - and our fans are prepared to accept that - then, fair enough, let him start every game (as he appears to be now demanding, to bolster his World Cup selection chances). However, I strongly suspect that the club and most of us fans do have top 4 aspirations, in which case it's better to let Defoe ply his "first name on the sheet" trade at another Prem club, one that doesn't have top 4 aspirations.

Defoe debates are like ground hog day, the people that "like" Defoe but doubt his ability say "he isn't top four quality" and the people that like Defoe but rate his abilities as a squad player, know he isn't good enough to be first choice every week but is good enough to play his part in a squad that reaches top four (as he has proved).

Plus Defoe hasn't demanded to start every game.

Basically the "problem" is, Defoe gets the back up of some supporters who then invent things just to try and make him seem like a worse player then he actually is, or claim he isn't good enough for us.

I'm sure all the fans who have said Crouch, Defoe & Lennon aren't top four quality could be sent a DVD of these players helping us get top four, and if Crouch never scored that goal away to Man City, all these "top four players" who are much better then Defoe wouldn't have been at the Lane, we should be thankful instead of trying to talk down players who have played a big part in our recent history.

I tell you what "Ground Hog Day" really is, it's Spurs failing to score enough goals, such that there is absolutely no point in our even bothering to consider the importance of goal-difference, at the end of a season. Our goal-scoring record, particularly from our strikers, has been utterly abysmal over the years.

There's only so long that the Defoe-ites can keep blaming that one on Darren Bent.
<whistle>

Well we could forget about Defoe and sign a striker for 25 million who is first choice for the world's best national side, as it's really that easy.

We seem to have the problem of fixing one problem, only for another one to occur:
Poor goalkeeper - Ardiles, Francis, Ramos, Redknapp
Poor defence - Ardiles, Francis, Redknapp
Weak midfield - Gross, Jol, Ramos
Lack of goals - Graham, Hoddle, Ramos, AVB

AVB has got a good goalkeeper, a good defence and a strong midfield - so, naturally, goals are at a premium. Just like how Jol had Keane and Berbatov up front but was let down by a central midfield pairing of Zokora and Jenas that you could get an oil tanker through, or how Francis had Sheringham and Klinsmann up front but a four sieves in defence and a colander in goal.

Guys - QPR fan here in peace.

If you guys arent sure about Defoe then please send him to Loftus Road where im certain he'll become a crowd favourite.

Not sure how he fits into your plans but we'll look after him till next May or so if you want.

Thanx

PS. Please let me know if you want me to pay the postage

good luck for the season <ok>
