Does the Deep State exist?

Ultimately power corrupts and human beings are greedy by nature, especially in the modern era of consumerism and capitalism.

Even people who start out with the best intentions are likely to drastically change the higher they rise and the more influence they get imo.

I think there are tbh Libby. But I'm trying to avoid making this about party politics so don't want to quote names as the thread will then spiral into the usual tribalism.

Having said that, and seeing as he's dead, I'll put John Smith up there.

Not necessarily Sucky. There are people who come into politics who genuinely want to do the right thing (and I would class that as putting the interests of the people ahead of themselves and anyone lobbying for their services) but they get chewed up by the system and portrayed as unelectable, which voters buy into and so they never really get significant positions of power to make a difference.
Exactly bro I couldn't agree more with both points there, just like you can always fresh faced police rokkies from hard nosed seasoned don't belive a fuking word you say police... They started fresh faced like those politicians.

But like you say.... eventually that system has you beating on people, shooting them, and otherwise making thier lives hell when they cross or question your authority.

Its a madness to read what you say, cos you seem to know it's all ****ed and yet you support it.

Not judging bro I get it but it just frustrates me, not you the subject, and you too but not now lol

Truthfully, I'm too old to care, and if I did care, there is fook all I can do about. <ok>

Yeah I don't let it bother me and accepted a long time ago that nothing can be done about it.

It's why it baffles me that people are so invested in politics. Whenever there's an ejection I just treat it as any other day; no matter what happens I'm still gonna wake up the next day, take my lad to school and go to work.

Obviously each to their own init, I just take the view that you control what you can in your life and live it as best you can. We're all gonna die at some point anyway so I find it hard to waste time getting worked up about something I have no control over.

Good question, mate.

I want to take this hot potato subject in baby steps.

At this stage, all I am interested in is do you believe there is an organisation, an entity, a shadow government, that runs our world, regardless as to which party we vote in?

This first question goes to the very heart of what you believe to be democracy and, ultimately, freedom.
Need a poll then really init. <laugh>

I do btw, not one but a small conglomerate

Exactly.

The Deep State (if it exists) has absolutely no concern about the colour of your vote. It follows its own agenda, and shades of it will be blue and red. But the colour doesn't matter.

If we are to beat the Deep State (if it exists), we need to cast aside our obsession with the colour of our politics, and recognise the true enemy among us.

I would say humans aren't clever enough or selfless enough to pull that off mate. So the answer is no.

I think it's more like a bunch of hyenas feasting off the carcass of the democratic system. Maybe a bit too harsh?

They absolutely count on our apathy, and for us to pass it down and spread it.

So well done<whistle>

I'm sure a thread on this forum will sort all this out and agree on a solution to all the worlds problems within hours.
A billionaire, a politician, a working class bloke and an immigrant all sat around a table.

In the middle of the table is a plate with 10 biscuits on it.

The Billionaire leans over and grabs 9 of the biscuits. He then slides 2 under the table to the politician and whispers in his ear.

The politician turns to the working class bloke and says - that immigrant is trying to steal your biscuit.
See, I was right.

This is what I don't understand.

We, all of us - me included - denounce the German people that permitted Hitler to rise to power, and it is implicit in our condemnation that we are above the manipulation that we believe the German people were under that permitted that rise, and yet we see obedience to power and corruption, every single day of our lives.

I am not putting myself above anyone in saying any of this, because I am acutely aware of my own complicity in such corruption.

How many of us believe that Blair committed war crimes by lying to Parliament? What the **** have any of us done about it?

There’s no organised ‘deep state’ imo there’s merely Billionaires using their power and influence to control the narratives for the plebiscite via media of all genres, including bought and paid for politicians, so that they steer the average man to use his vote for their best interests and against his.

Those interests are money and power. There’s a whole collection of billionaires who want to be beyond the control of any state, so they can avoid tax and regulation, but they need to control the narrative to ensure that no one legislates to remove their sovereign power.

I'm not saying they all get beaten down and turn corrupt though bro. I'm saying some who won't bend their principles get beaten by propaganda which dupes the public into believing they're not fit for higher office.

BTW if you ever want to see just how much of a muchness they all are (Tory, Labour, Lib Dems etc)... go to a council meeting.

Nothing more corrupt than your local authority <ok>

Absolutely agree with this.

I've seen it first hand, myself.
