That Glamorgan declaration has taken me slightly by surprised. Bold, but risky.

I see that the ECB haven't made Root or Brook available for our game vs Yorks. And Bairstow won't be able to play due to being replaced in their opening game (albeit even if the seven-day rule didn't exist, the injury itself might put him out of it anyway).

I'm putting a message here to bump this thread, as for some reason it's vanished from my visible threads. Is there a 'Do not show this thread' option, that I've accidentally activated?

Usually the reason is that the thread creator has been put onto ignore. That results in the thread ceasing to visible, unless you click on 'show ignored content' in the bottom right. But in this case I assume you haven't recently put TSS on ignore, because he hasn't posted for six years!

Have you maybe put a filter on accidentally?

Just checked, he's got TSS on ignore, if that helps.

Thanks for checking things, brb. I did have TSS on ignore, but I've got no idea how it happened. Anyway, I'll check to see if I can access the (Saints) Cricket Thread. Thanks again!

Orr made 84 and 167 and Middleton 100 for the 2nd XI this week. And yet it sounds like Weatherley will keep his place in the team. I just don't understand.

Yes, and the fact that he's still busy fielding for the 2nd XI suggests that he's not even travelling to Leeds. Meanwhile, we have an 'opener' who averages 24 and has only passed 50 a total of 15 times in 106 first class innings...

By comparison, Orr averages 35 and has passed 50 a total of 13 times in only 68 first class innings.

I'd rather try Albert as opener (and reliable slip fielder) than Weatherley - the time has come for him to be on a white ball only contract or, failing that, given a very final chance in the middle order to see if that makes any difference to his returns.

I honestly think Weatherley should go full Bazball rather than just hang around for a miserable 5 off 30 balls. At least if he gets 25-30 off 30 balls we'll have got off to a reasonable start.
