It would be nice to finish 2nd. I do think we've got closer to Surrey this season than the last two before that. We've also been without Orr most of the season. I think we're in a good position to challenge Surrey next year with Prest having had his breakout year and hopefully Turner being able to kick on.
 
Odd decision for Somerset to bat first, given the conditions. But I suppose the conditions will remain difficult all game, so it probably doesn't matter.

Denying them batting points now means that they'll have to beat us to overtake us.

Yes, I agree. Orr has been available for the last few games but they've not picked him.

It also remains to be seen what our bowling attack will look like next year. Will we have Currie back? Will Baker be straight into the XI? Will we still have the trio of Barker, Abbott and Abbas to call on?
 
Feels like a difficult ask for Daws to get the 93 runs he needs this match to get to a 1,000. But if anyone can do it, Daws can.
