So as it turns out, a failure to get that one extra run against Essex has knocked us out. Turn that tie into a win, and we'd have gone through on NRR ahead of Kent (by just 0.02) and Essex.

We lost because of very poor bowling tonight esp from Wood, Shamsi & Fuller - 119 runs across 8ovs. Don’t think we were strong enough & don’t think we would have progressed regardless.

Edit: Bad math - 125 runs / 8ovs.

The really annoying thing is that Somerset finished with a better NRR than anyone apart from Lancashire and Sussex, but rank bad bowling let us down tonight.

Well that result at Taunton has taken me by surprise!! My beloved Middlesex through.. How about a final between Middlesex and those upstarts from Essex?

Not sure, but Roy and Buttler should have been dropped. They dropped Woakes instead who has made the exact same number runs as Buttler + Roy combined, I find that borderline hilarious. Especially when Woakes can bowl too. Surprised they went with Overton over Curran if they wanted to drop Woakes.
