**** our luck with the pointless England selections of Vincey and Daws, without them (the selections) we might've been looking at at least a double and maybe even a clean sweep of domestic trophies, they are that important to us.

He never did a lot of fast bowling at Headingley if my memory is correct...
Yes, but he captained Yorkshire for quite a few years. Part of being captain is knowing the conditions and playing to your team's strengths. So I'm fairly certain his knowledge of Headingley is going to be extremely accurate.

It's still a massive ask, not least because we'll have to take on ABDV next week. But if there is one thing in our favour, it's the fixture list. We still have to play Essex and Glamorgan, whereas (aside from Middlesex's game against us) Gloucs and Middlesex exclusively have games against Kent, Sussex and Somerset.

Glamorgan are of course out, and Essex will be joining them if they don't defend this score at the moment (although I'd make them favourites right now).

Everyone knows Headingley is (gently) uphill from the Football Stand end and downhill from the Kirkstall Lane end, but what you’re forgetting is that Broad is the senior bowler and picked the downhill end, and Archer would have picked the uphill end anyway, as was pointed out in the commentary this morning. Don’t forget Joe Root has played at Headingley his whole life too, and his knowledge is also extensive, not to mention current. And 17 overs in a day is hardly overuse of a young bowler.

I'm not saying he was overused but he should have used the downhill end. But all's well that end's well.

I did feel slightly sorry for Middlesex, because we know what that is like. Indeed, we might be experiencing it ourselves in an hour or so.

If we had Donald and Alsop available to play in place of Fuller and Holland, I'd have no worries about chasing 129. Should be a breeze. But as it is, if Vince, Rilee and Northeast all get knocked over early (which is very possible this season)...

I wouldn´t feel that sorry for them St Brendy. At the moment Middlesex are not a very good team in any format of the game.

It will be interesting to see where the likes of Vince and Morgan play next summer. More tan likely in the Hundread Franchises, so Vince could be playing for one of the London based ones if he is in high demand. And as this competition runs alongside the t20, the counties are going to be lacking star studded players.

Off to Glos v Somerset tonight, just looked at the 20/20 table looks like it should be a good game.

Still what, 7 games left for most teams? So not a must win but a big game in terms of making the quarter finals

Oh good, a Magic/Chilcs local derby grudge match....

Looking at the table i'm slightly going with Chilc's mob to help Hants' cause.

Only 5 games left for you and us and 6 left for Zummerzet.
