For me, Barker was making the same error to the right-handers that Abbott and Abbas were making to the left-handers last week. Just bowl your usual line. The wickets are coming bowled, lbw, and caught behind. Barker was all over the two left-handed openers (for what little time they were there). But looked so much less effective against the right-handers. And it was at a time when we really needed to capitalise, before that bout of sunshine and whilst the ball was brand new.
Bartlett gone. It’s been tough going out there, but you’d think he was in by now. Great ball from Abbott though, extra bounce.
Difficult to say what a decent lead for Somerset will be. Tomorrow is obviously going to be easier to bat, so I suppose taking at least half the day out of Hampshire’s second innings would be nice. They were saying that the forecast for Saturday isn’t as bad as first thought, so a result looks pretty certain.
