Well that was a very enjoyable morning’s cricket! A good toss to win, clearly, even if the wicket looked pretty docile for the first hour. For a while it was looking like Vince would be stranded having to watch the tail collapse at the other end, but he solved that problem by chopping a beauty from Overton on.

Didn’t expect us to have picked up 2 bowling points before lunch, I must admit!

"Torturous" is how I would describe it....

The only possible saving grace for us is that Somerset's batting line up isn't nearly as star studded (or in form) as Surrey's. If we can get to 150+ then at least we have something to bowl at. And Somerset do like a batting collapse almost as much as us.

True, but Banton’s out, Lammonby is coming into form, and Goldsworthy is a superstar in the making. And most of the side consists of all-rounders, right down to the mighty Jack Leach.

Well, well.

Commentators saying Hampshire could be back in sometime this evening, which of course is always possible, but we’ll see. At least Somerset have already avoided the follow-on!

Mind you, I don't think you'll make that many! TBF if the ball is moving around we've got the bowlers to exploit the conditions, just like Somerset.

The day to bat is definitely tomorrow so if we can restrict Somerset to a small 1st innings lead this match could change on its head.

As a continuation of my straw-clutching principle when supporting both Hampshire and Saints,it seems that Hampshire success is directly opposite to Saints' success. In which case we should take Liverpool to the cleaners, and win by 4 or 5.

You're never bored as a Saints and Hampshire fan. Nervous, bordering on being a jibbering wreck, but never bored.
