This is just pathetic now. Another thrashing incoming. And we can kiss goodbye to finishing in the top 2. Spineless.
This batting line up should not be struggling this much, it needs a decent opening pair to take the pressure off. Now will the decision to strengthen the tail pay off.
Vince has to move back up to 3. Batting him at 5 has completely backfired. Thought it was a stupid idea in the first place.
I don't know any other team who has their best batsman at 5. If we lose a load of early wickets it puts Vince under loads of pressure. At least if he comes in at 3 the run rate will pick up fairly early. What a ludicrous decision. It's ok when the top order scores runs but we're totally screwed if they don't. Vince cannot continue to bat at 5. Drop Weatherley, open with Alsop with Vince at 3.
Today, if Vince had come in at 3 the chances are we would have 20-30 more runs on the board.
Weatherley's career is just not kicking on, he has a first class average of only 26 after 38 matches.
Well that was a very enjoyable morning’s cricket! A good toss to win, clearly, even if the wicket looked pretty docile for the first hour. For a while it was looking like Vince would be stranded having to watch the tail collapse at the other end, but he solved that problem by chopping a beauty from Overton on.
