G'day anti - dry today, and not too cold. Pompey got a well deserved draw at Cheltenham, but had the chances to have won the match, but what about your lads ? Convincing win over Everton, and three goals as well ! Can't be bad. Got a family christening to attend in Portsmouth tomorrow. Audio books are always a good idea, we got my father-in-law some as presents, when he found it difficult to read. Have a good day.
 
Mutiny on the Bounty 1935 is one of the best nautical adventure films of all time and one of MGM's greatest classics. The rousing, 18th century story of the Bounty's mutiny, directed by Frank Lloyd, was adapted from the first two volumes of the Charles Nordhoff-James Norman Hall 1932 best selling novel The Bounty Trilogy (composed of Mutiny on the Bounty, Men Against the Sea, and Pitcairn Island). It echoed the semi-documentary In the Wake of the Bounty (1933, Australia) which starred Errol Flynn in his movie debut as Fletcher Christian; both films were based upon the 1932 novel Mutiny on the Bounty by Nordoff and Hall.

Evening Woopert - 3 - 0 and I changed my prediction from a one all draw to 3 - 1 home defeat after seeing the teams - DOH ! - Result in the present department got an audio collection of John Le Carre novels 86 hours in total and 6 novels reduced from 359 bucks to 149.00 I must say that made the whole experience worth while although back up there again today to try and get a guitar pedal for my son - didn't know you could ride them thought you played them - farewelling a staff member at the club today after 28 years which should lead me to farewelling 28 beers to boot - ATB

It was also the perfect opportunity for the Nazis to prove to the world the reality of the Master Race. The Berlin Olympic Games gave the Nazis an opportunity to show off to the world as 49 countries were competing bringing with them their assorted media. For Propaganda Minister Joseph Goebbels, it was the perfect scenario.

The Japanese first attacked the Australian mainland on 19 February 1942 when they launched a devastating air raid on Darwin in the Northern Territory. Two weeks later, more aircraft attacked Broome in Western Australia killing about 70 people. By the end of September 1943, Japanese pilots had flown 97 air raids against towns and bases in northern Australia. On 31 May 1942, the war came to the east coast when three Japanese midget submarines entered Sydney Harbour. In June 1942 a submarine lightly shelled the eastern suburbs in Sydney and then Newcastle. Japanese submarines also attacked coastal shipping, causing the loss of some 60 lives and 29,000 tons of shipping during the two months after the midget submarine attack on Sydney Harbour.

Jan 18th 1944 - The Metropolitan Opera House in New York City hosts a jazz concert for the first time. The performers were Louis Armstrong, Benny Goodman, Lionel Hampton, Artie Shaw, Roy Eldridge and Jack Teagarden.

Greetings Woopert back on the sceptered Isle hanky in hand and a very healthy liver by the sound of it - usual Christmas for me except the daughter left at 6pm to go back to Sydney prior to flying to NewYork Boxing morning at sparrow fart - had a loin of pork and a citrus crispy skinned duck then the usual pud with brandy butter - felt totally bloated and uncomfortable so dozed off in the chair bah humbug - taking the old chap to the barbers this morning then off to the cemetery to put some flowers on mums grave - have a goodun' ATB

8 May, 1945 – Eight days after the suicide of Adolf Hitler and the collapse of the Nazi rule in Berlin, V-E Day is celebrated throughout the UK. Churchill makes a victory speech and appears on the balcony of Buckingham Palace with George VI, Queen Elizabeth and The Princesses Elizabeth and Margaret. Street parties take place throughout the country.

Evening anti - still not feeling too brilliant, so spent day just resting. More like septic than sceptered Isle at the moment. 50/50 whether I go to work tomorrow or not. Best bit of Christmas for me, was the happy look on grandson's little face as he opened his presents (with a lot of help from his parents !). Lots of lovely toys to play with. Have a good day.

Nope not a chance but what might be a saving grace for you is that we are running out of years we are soon to disappear up are own rear ends but rest assured there are minds working as we speak to invent a new thread along the same lines - don't you feel just ecstatic about that - HURRAH!!

Hey Woopert - did you get to work ? I got to get flowers with my dad for mums grave and on leaving the shopping centre some stupid bint in a Chelsea tractor (JEEP SUV) decided to cut across me and rearrange my front end - so now its off to the panel beaters to get a quote etc etc etc As you sit there feeling less that wonderful your grandsons face on Chrissy Day should cheer you up - less than two weeks to the cruise might be a good time to get the panel beating done - now there's a thought ATB
