37608 was new as D6722 in 1961 , and allocated to Ipswich in East Anglia , England. Renumbered to 37022 in 1974 , 37512 in 1987 , and 37608 in 1995. Previously operated by Direct Rail Services , it is now part of The Rail Operations Group fleet and was named Andromeda in 2017. it is pictured here with 47815 on the rear while working 539S the 1250 Haymarket Depot to Leicester L.I.P.
LIFE AS D6724 37714 began life as D6724 and was released to service from the English Electric Vulcan Works on the 25th August 1961, initially allocated to March Depot. It spent its early days on the Eastern Region with allocations at Stratford, Ipswich and March, renumbering as 37024 in 1974.
In 1981 she was allocated to Gateshead for a period, before again returning to March.
