UP 7087 Description: A northbound manifest train waits for traffic to clear before proceeding with a lower priority train. I was at this location for about five hours and never saw this train move once, how did the crew manage to stay awake?
'Hymek' Class diesel hydraulic No. D7089 runs light through Cardiff General on 2nd August 1971. New from Beyer Peacock Ltd in July 1963, it had a tragically short working life of just 9 years and 9 months, being withdrawn in May 1973 and cut up during February 1976 by TJ Thomson & Son Ltd of Stockton. Cardiff General was renamed Cardiff Central in May 1973.
DFT 7092 heads north to Whangarei with empty log train 125. The 200km North Auckland Line passes through 13 tunnels and is rustic and scenic. Sadly it is under threat of closure due to light traffic and high costs. The first four tunnels are about 120 years old and restrict use of hi-cube containers without special wagons.

7100 Duke of Gloucester ELR 2011 The BR Standard Class 8 was a class of 4-6-2 Pacific steam locomotive designed by Robert Riddles for use by British Railways. Only the prototype was constructed, which was named Duke of Gloucester. Constructed at Crewe Works in 1954, the Duke, as it is popularly known, was a replacement for the destroyed Princess Royal Class locomotive number 46202 Princess Anne, which was involved in the Harrow and Wealdstone rail disaster of 1952.
