Right, think of a Christmas song.

You got it clear in your mind?

How long ago do you think it was released?

Clue, today is a milestone....

On this day in Slade history...47 years ago...
December 7th 1973, Slade released 'Merry Xmas Everybody'.
It reached number 1 in the UK singles chart, and (on first release) remained in the chart for nine weeks.
To date, Slade's Christmas classic has now been in the UK singles chart for an amazing 100 weeks!

Noddy Holder makes around £500k a year in royalties from this song. He was on the radio last year talking about it. Incidentally he also owns half of Walkington apparently.

Is there any reason beyond investments for the Walkington link?

Well must admit I've gone over the top with outside Christmas decorations this year, my daughter used to say about five years ago how rubbish our house looked to the rest around here, from that moment on I decided each Christmas January sales to buy 3/4 light up decorations, it now looks like Santa's grotto. The only thing now is i have 14 plugs on the go so if any of you fellow city fans would like to donate to my electricity bill that would be great. Regarding Christmas day i am at my sister's so plenty of food/drink there. Obviously no nights out at the moment so December weekends it's normally a Christmas film with a few bottles of lager and gin and tonics. If City win it makes the weekend so has we all are, I'm hoping for a few wins over Christmas. Also I normally do Santa for the kids which isn't going ahead so I've had to tell Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet Cupid, Doner and Blizen, oh nearly forgot about Rudolf that they will have a rest this year. Won't be quite the same but you have to make the most of the situation and enjoy what ever you do, hopefully 2021 will gradually get back to normal, Enjoy everyone UTT

We're going about ours as normal as possible. I put the lights and decorations up the weekend following Thanksgiving. Planning to roast some prime rib on Christmas day for Mrs. Tex and her parents. This thread reminds me I need to make a run to the liquor store. I'm running low on some staples.

I normally buy those at the stationers...

Are we including Christmas booze on this thread? Don’t we normally have a separate thread for booze stocks?

Ps- there’s a great offer on atm from Brockmans Gin - box of 6 for £125. I found the offer on Brockmans FB page. Great value
