I reckon Heskey could do a great job in the Championship for 1 season.
Clyne the Palace full back, Seyi and Clayton from Leeds caught my eye out of those lot. Would love Rodriguez but I also think he's destined for the PL.

We need to dig up the next Sinclar/Ince from a Prem squad for about 500k if we can.

I see Heskey has become free now but think the Foxes will have the pulling power on him.

Here are some others but are these outside our ability to bid for them Danny Guthrie,Nigel Reo-Coker and Carlos Cuéllar

Exclusive: Cardiff make shock £5.5m move for Burnley star Rodriguez
Malky Mackay’s owners are backing him with cash to win promotion and the England under-21 prospect is their top target - and available for the right price

Could be interesting!

Now he's be a good buy. Destined for big things young Jay is. But please not Gabbidon or Heskey. Buy anyone but past it stars. Has nobody learned Earnshaws lesson yet?

Earnshaw was bench warming at forrest, Heskey is a massive physical presence who has spent his entire carear at PL level. Wouldn't pay him big wages but if no one else wants him, I'm sure he'd do a job for 1 season. I'd rather a young up and coming CB to sit on our bench than Gabbidon.

The JR story is exciting, if for no other reason than it proves (if the bid has happened) we'll be looking to buy quality not sell it this summer. £5.5 is a lot of money for a player with no PL experience who's not even top scorer in the Championship. Other point is if MM can spend 5.5 on one player there must be additional funds too!

All that assumes the bid has actually been made and isn't just classic tabloid ****e.

Danny Guthrie,Nigel Reo-Coker and Carlos CuéllarJay Rodriguez, Justin Hoyte, Lewis McGugan, Luke Chambers, Paul Pogba, Andy Johnson and that winger from BC Adhomah

So already we could have a side that looked a little like this

---------------------------------------------Marshell-----------------------------------------

Mcnaughton--------------------------------------------------------------------------Taylor
------------------------------Hudson---------------------Turner---------------------------

Adhomah----------------------------Reo coker©-----------------------------Whittingham
------------------------------------------------Mcgugan-------------------------------------

-------------------------------Rodriguez----------------------------------------------------
-------------------------------------------------Millar---------------------------------------

Bench
Parrish
Chambers
Gunnerson
Conway
Mason

Not included
Cowie Blake Gestade Mcphail Gerrard Kiss Earnie Harris Ralls Lewis

Ok a few free on decent wages and maybe the one big money move but a decent looking line up with a bit more width and pace as well as cover.

We can all dream A!!!!!!!!!!!!

some of the comments on the rodriquez rumour are spot on imo...

'Why would he join a Championship club if he has a Premier League pedigree and price tag? Why would Cardiff want 1 player when this budget should buy a few players and build the squad good enough to get you up.'

we cant really afford half of £5m.

gabbidon hasnt been up to the task of playing for a fringe PL team but that doesnt mean he isnt capable of being a good deputy if gerrard goes. the team should be built around hudson and turner so no need to break that up so its an option i think sheep..

Reocoker has exercised a break contract from a relegated club, no way he'll play Championship footy next year. I'd be happy with Adomah, Rodriguez and Mcgugan!

I'm pretty sure we're back to 7 subs next year which should help Harris get a bit of game time.

Don't think any of us actually know what we can afford tbh. If the Malaysians do wipe the debt away and push hard for the PL maybe we can afford a £5.5 mill man. Whether Rodriguez is the right way to spend that cash is a totally different argument.

on our turnover we cant even afford £2m tbh, if the malaysians put the money up thats different but i want us to be run as a business and not splash out big money on one player, as you say...<ok>

Who gives a **** bout Bellamy. He's not coming back. (expect perhaps for coaching) Reo - coker would be a good signing but will want to play Premier and will ask for high wages. Looked decent whenever I saw him on TV. Good work rate

I wouldn't mind seeing Bellamy back for a season or two if we can get a couple of good strikers around him.

We don't know who the next Liverpool manager is going to be yet, Bellamy may not be in his plans for the future.

We can hope I suppose. Bellamy was probably their best signing all season
