Wow everyone is picking out my old comments today. I just feel the bbc holds F1 in less regard to other sports. ITV had F1 as its premier sport. It would even advertise it during CL football games. The BBC could do a lot more. Did you know they hold the rights to show GP2 races but they dont. ITV used to show them on alternate weekends to the F1 races. The only CON of ITV was its advert breaks.

anyway moving on from TV media what were your guys comparisons of the ITV and BBC websites during thier eras?
 
I think the BBC coverage although still good would be improved greatly if they got rid of Jake Humphrey for a multitude of reasons:
- He is a rubbish presenter.
- He knows nothing about F1.
- He does not care much about F1.
- He is very tedious and annoying.
- His tweets are inane and irrelevant.
- He is fixated about Eddie Jordan.
 
One piece i miss in particular from ITV , is brundles piece , where he answers questions from the viewers about various things. Used to be very interesting.

You were categorical in saying, "BBC dont give a damn about F1 coverage," yet the only reasons you give are that ITV used to advertise it during Champions League matches, and that they broadcast GP2 races. I'm afraid that in no way backs up your claim that the "BBC dont give a damn about F1 coverage." The BBC show the practice sessions on the red button, and (usually) have a forum after the race. These are both features ITV never had in its' coverage.

Is this really your opinion, or are you simply throwing insults out there because you think you are not going to be called up on them? Your claim is completely without foundation in my opinion, and I think it is pretty poor form for a moderator to come out with such baseless criticism. If you are quite able to announce your prejudices against the BBC as if they are facts, then what else might you come out with?

You also forgot complete WUM, always trying to do something to wind up Hamiltion, I think it was him that kept asking about why Hamilton kept going to the stewards that caused the Ali G comment. Holt also tried the same trick after hamilton and button had their get together.

slightly off topic, but I'm a bit sad that the BBC don't follow any other car racing, used to love watching stock-cars, Hot Rods (my gran used to cry with joy everytime Barry Lee won) and really miss the Rally-cross that Grandstand used to broadcast on a regular basis (Martin Schanche was one of my all time favourite racing drivers) instead our licence fees are used to help rich people find nice homes in spain.

Clarkson would be epic. I'd watch him do the grid walk - just to see him massacre the german/italian journalists who stand between his ego and drivers he wants to interview.

Sadly I think Humphrey started well, but the success of the show seems to have changed him for the worse. Moreover, the recent "Hamilton buffed his balls in Redbull rendevous with Horny Horner" type journalisim, which completey overtook all the links of the BBC F1 Homepage, has been highly irritating. Even more so as there are plenty more interesting things to talk about.
 
I thought that the criticism of the BBC was because most people used BBC 606, and thought it was cool to abuse the organisation that was providing them with uninterrupted coverage of the races, and letting them discuss it on line. Maybe I was mistaken, and the feeling against the Beeb runs deeper than I thought. How deep can El Bando get, I wonder.
