As much as it pains, we are one of the best run football related businesses. That is a totally different concept to football club.

Can I just say, and this is absolutely not my argument and I have no bones in this, that yes, absolute incompetents can and do amass multi-million pound fortunes. Complete morons take business and/or financial risks that your average IQ'd would not and sometimes, obviously not always but certainly on occasion, those risks pay off, sometimes in a massive way.

If you're starting from a non zero position like our good friend Ehab then it can be even harder to fail. If Tangoman Trump had simply placed his inheritance in a bank and done **** all he would have a greater personal wealth than he has today.

If you're starting from nothing, well, even Leeds fans can win the lottery.

Without going into anything lengthy, IMO Assem Allam does know the engineering business and has grown that part of his business successfully. I believe he taken advantage along the way of others misfortunes, but fair to say he was in the right place at the right time.

As far as Football is concerned they are totally out of their depth. I have seen a few companies diversify away from their core business, the ones that succeed generally have people at the top who know that business and what they are doing. Many fail by trying to do it themselves when they know nothing about the type of business they have acquired.

We all know the mistakes the Allam's have made, but they plough on digging a hole that continues to get bigger, no one tells me how to run my business he said, even when he knows very little about it.

Spot on, I hate this automatic respect that many people offer to the wealthy, inside and outside of football. It's complete bollocks to say that because someone has a successful business they must be smart people. More often than not it's because they started with a lot and in most of those cases they will loudly declare that they started with nothing. Assem Allam was from a wealthy background in Egypt and is a proven liar. His ridiculous story about arriving with nothing but the bank just giving him £20 out of sympathy is just one of his many fantasies. He's also had failed attempts at businesses. I wonder how he was able to afford to do that and just go again...

I also hate this "I'm so smart" enlightened centrism. "Ooh look at me I can see both sides you know. Everyone else is just so angry that you can't be balanced like me". When someone is obviously a **** just say it. Desperately trying to find a balanced view on ****s just makes you look like one.

It boggles my mind no one has questioned his story about having no wealth and then buying the company he worked for. As if he was able to just muster the money out of thin air to purchase a company he was an employee at.

Most people who claim they are just 'playing Devil's Advocate' or 'it pains me to admit that they're actually REALLY smart' etc. aren't actually that pained, and aren't actually playing Devil's Advocate, they're just being cowardly about expressing their true opinion because they know the reaction it'll get.
