I think it'll depend on which side has the stronger tail, it's usually been the Aussies and even Johnson has hit big test scores so it's important we strike early tomorrow. As Stan says it's perfectly balanced at present and good to see it it's so competitive for both sides...

Our batting line-up is definitely the stronger, with Moeen coming in at number 8.

If we can get them out for around 350 an 80 run start will be very handy to allow for the usual top order collapse.......The pitch has certainly nullified Johnson although Starc did well to get a 5 for.......

If England can bat for at least 3 sessions they could set the Aussies a target of between 350 and 400 with a day and a bit to bowl them out.

Nicely poised at the moment with England slightly ahead......

Good test match cricket.. England definitely with the upper hand but we usually have a decent tail - we need to get close to even at the end of our innings if we are to be a chance..

Both teams will be looking for a player to make a stand and win it for them. I'm thinking a draw will be a good result for both teams. The pitch isn't going to help anyone much.

Another good day, England having a crack, couple of talking points with the umps, but no real controversies.
England bowlers performing better in comparison, nicely poised.

Like Tramore, hoping that they get through the tail quickly, although I think there'll be a little resistance.

So I gather we have bowled them all out and have a lead of 122.
For those of us who are cricket ignorant, is that good, very good or incredibly fantastically good?

Superb bowling this morning, but this pitch continues to swing elaborately. If we can get through Stark and Hazlewood with the new cherry relatively unscathed,we can push on and set a very testing total!

Going along nicely now 150/3 just after tea a lead of 270......bat until half hour before lunch tomorrow after setting them 450 to win......

Genuine question...any of you cricket buffs of a certain age ever play this? Thought it was a good game, but preferred the football version.<cheers>

Currently 408 ahead after a mini collapse.
Absolutely loving watching Wood smash them to all parts!!

I'd be happier if we could get 450 ahead................a lot of time left in this game!

So, England all out 411 ahead. I just have a horrible feeling that the Aussies will go and get these. Loads of time left!!

What a great days cricket. Just needed one of our lads to get a ton and that would have been it I suspect, but this way should be really tense if the Aussies get a decent start.

A testing total for Aussies to get, the pitch is playing up & rain forecast Sunday, should be interesting.
