The sad fact is we simply don't care that much about your club. I mean losing twice to you was embarrassing for the fact that we lost to such a poor side and that it gave your fans something to crow about but with West Ham we know you're always going to fall on your face soon enough.
If it wasn't for your lot having significant number of vile fans then there would really be no rivalry from our side, I'm sure. But there I go being arrogant again...
It will be nice not having to visit their"new" stadium,might be nice for Championship teams fans though

Exactly.
For me WHAM are in the same ball park as Fulham, Charlton and Watford in terms of footballing rivalry. It's only because they have so may idiot fans that I ever want us to "get one over on them" for anything other than 3pts.
So are you actually saying that Wet Spam actually had a higher net spend in the summer transfer window than us and they still can't get out of the relegation zone?
In my 70s I have enjoyed the movement of the great game from the days Spurs started the pass and move systems in the 40/50s until today with Barca playing such an advanced system of pass and move
West Ham in early days a nice little club were among the first to focus on developing youth players to the first team and allways playing the game the right way and hence the nickname "the acadamy"
We would go to see the hammers when Spurs away and the atmosphere was always open and friendly
Wow what a change since the arrival of race issues in thier crowd and their football ethics having been boiled down to where their goalkeeper is their playmaker??
For my age group it is sad to see this decent club pass away into the anti-football mob they are now, sad.

According to TransferLeague.co.uk, which isn't always 100% accurate but it'll do for this, West Ham have a net spend of £25m this season.
Our net spend over the same period is -£3.55m. Last season we spent -£1.3m and the season before it was -£27m.
West Ham's previous two campaigns saw a combined spend of a little over £19m.

Tight? Not exactly the word I'd use. Total rip-off merchants would be closer to the truth. Spending your transfer budget on buying the club for themselves.
Levy's basically been spending ours on the training complex and the stadium plans, as far as I can tell.

Where's the ambition and the risk taking? Where's the passion? Why are their actions always rationalised on commercial grounds- stability, profits, common sense?
I don't think there's any danger of either of our clubs following their lead, but surely making profits on transfers is ultra conservative with so much money sloshing around in the PL and other leading clubs spending such huge amounts?
Our books need to be balanced. A variety of clubs around us aren't in that position.

I wholeheartedly agree with you Pabird. I seem to remember some great Boxing Day games with them, way back, when the band played Christmas carols and everyone sang (the right words). There used to be a real communal spirit among both sets of fans. We may be knocking on a bit Pabird but we definitely had the best era of supporting Spurs!
Well remember the boxing day games in the completely integrated crowds and always a laugh whilst sharing a game between two of the truly good on the floor football teams, yes we had the best age of the supporters

...and let's not forget that 'Pool escaped insolvency and Administration only because of some dodgy deal between the bank and just about the only person in the entire world that was prepared to pay the knock-down price. We'll never truly know just how close 'Pool came to complete financial meltdown, but I'm betting it was pretty close.
I keep reading about the clubs total spending but I never read about the total expenditure involving players wages.This would be something!
