I don't think GM would do that, neither would I really want him here, His time is done for me.

I could have forgiven him yesterday if we had gone with a different formation and different players with Gomis on the bench, but there are no excuses for that/these performances. We've been poor, very poor since the Utd game.

As posts are being forensically examined, how about this? <laugh>

During his time in charge Monk has delivered a period of relative success at the Club, with some great victories, historic doubles and achieved our highest PL position.

Although inexperienced at the start, he has been on a steep learning curve and will have learnt a lot in that time, including how to change tactics to win different matches. That is why this current run of form since the Watford game is so mystifying.
Why won't he now change tactics? Stubborness? Arrogance? Whatever it is, he has dug himself into a deep hole.

If it is down to his own tactical dogma, I think the Club has two options:
(a) Sack him.
(b) Take him into a room on Monday morning and tell him that if the current team formation is used once more this season he's out the door.

I hope the Club goes for (b)
Better ..lol

You are so right and could have dealt with the defeat if he had looked at different opinions, but he just sticks with what hasnt been working. He is fast becoming a jole.

Sorry if you think it's a dreadfully biased poll. I thought I did my best to give a full range of options.

There's only a very limited amount of text you can put in the options boxes so there's no opportunity to pad it out as you suggested. I'm pleased you posted that Shaper, as I think a poll sometimes gives a more balanced view overall than reading the posts of those who shout the loudest.

But there are a also a lot of people on here who feel very strongly that Monk's time is up.

I meant there are 4 options to sack him and 1 option to follow him blindly.
It feels like there should be a bit more middle ground.

I'm hearing a lot of "beating Bournemouth would prove nothing".
If we did beat Bournemouth, we could (and I stress 'could') end up in 10th.
Now I'm not making excuses, Monk needs to be tactically smarter and needs to recognise Gomis' ineptitude.

I will ask this...

If any other team sacked their manager whilst in 10th place, would you say, "yeah, that seams about right."?

I would say they need to calm down.

Problem is, once we have played Bournemouth we would have played every team currently below us in the table along with all 3 promoted teams. We do not have any where near enough points on the board considering the opposition we have faced. The only win we have against teams above us in Manu.

Just say we beat Bournemouth from a Siggy free kick and that was it with no other chances or the ones created were spurned ,that we continued to play with no pace desire ,mistakes being made continually bickering between the players ,weird and wonderful substitutions with the same starting 11 ,would you still be satisfied ?.

I see what you're saying. I don't disagree with the concern that Monk is making mistakes. Or that the team is not performing.
What I'm saying is, that the rest of the world will say, "their form was a bit ****, but they were 11th in the table. I think they've jumped a bit there".
if we get to February and we're 20th and 5 points adrift of 17th, then I'll put my hands up and say, "he should have gone, I was wrong". As it stands, I simply don't agree that is going to happen.

In comparison to the season we last sacked a manager, at this stage after 12 games we had 15 points and were in 10th position as opposed to this season where we have 13 points and are in 14th. It does seem that we are in a very similar if not worse position and I dont see how Monk can turn this around. Putting results to one side it is our performances that worry me more as we dont seem to be doing anything different week in week out.
I dont see us sacking anybody untill after Jan (as we did last time) to give the current regime the chance to change things.

I'm struggling to think what will be the best solution for us. Don't particularly want to see monk go but we can't keep on like this. For me the win win situation would be to have some experience around to help out but if reports are to be believed then monk won't have help.

I'm no footballing expert but every goal conceded this season has been easy and clear to predict during play yet he seems unable to see what's coming. Just check recent match day threads ( change... Monk make the change now........MONK NOW!!!!!! FFS!!!!!!!!)

We're getting done the same way and it's too easy for the opposition. They Park the bus knowing we have nothing upfront, stifle montero by putting 2/3 players on him, limiting our only threat going forward knowing that nothing is gonna come from the right. Keep narrow and tight making it extremely difficult to break down. Wait till frustration and complacency sets in then pounce. Goal!

IMO we should: Give the ball to the opposition when they Park the bus and allow them to come at us instead of being lead into a false security that we're in control. Hopefully that will daw them out thinking that we're not on our game opening them up.

As I said I'm no footballing expert but this is obvious to me.

Just want to point out this weekend

Crystal palace 36.2% possession and played very well and won the game

Newcastle 32.5% won the game

Leicester 41.3% won the game comfortable

Stoke 36.8% won the game

Nowrich 32.9% won the game and had more shots and had 5 on target

Possession isn't everything, teams now fear taking us on except the big teams and Southampton. We need to draw them out somehow.

If Monk is not axed in the next two days , I don't want him axed.
The window for a smooth transition starts to close and we well be better off sticking with him .
The biggest reason I wanted a new manager was the International break and 3 weeks till we face a team of substance . Its either right away , or not at all , reference Monks being removed.

The point really is no matter what we think it's the Boards decision to make either way (thank god), The surprise from the media when laudrup was sacked had a similar effect ,although now with "some "of the truth being revealed maybe with a better understanding of what was happening , so this could be a deja vue situation .

The fork in the road is now , if Monk isn't sacked right away , sacking him again shouldn't be re visited till after the Man U game January 2 imo.
That gives a new manager 10 days till the next game and an open window to buy and sell.
For me the "One more chance " at Bournemouth category shouldn't even be an option .
And it's got the most votes. So if we don't win that game , this category wants to hand over the team to a new manager with his first game in a week , which begins a 4 game streak with top teams , followed by a gruelling Christmas schedule

I know for a fact the board are more than unhappy with our football and the way we have deteriorated this last 3 months, and Monk was offered help and support over 4 weeks ago, but didn't see the need and felt he could turn it around, of course he may feel a little different now, and may well happily take assistance from Huw Jenkins and co, but there is going to be a great deal of soul searching in this break, I just hope that Monk sees sense, and doesn't stubbornly refuse this time round, as he will without fail be fired, make no mistake about that, we are not the Swansea City of old, the club needs the new Premier League Money next season for expansion, and will not jeopardise our Premier league status for Garry Monk................<ok>

If you want some Idea regarding events of late between Monk and Board, then the Telegraph is close to the story!............<cheers>

The board more than " offered " help to Monk over 4 weeks ago dragon iBut , catching the board off guard ,Monk stood up to there "Demands " . Monk was a no show the next day ,
The board blinked , and they cohearsed their "Tale " to slip the press...., fast forward to Sunday and we get the official notification of "Demands " about staff additions.
If Monk does get axed soon , Huw's biggest regret will be the odds....
