See - this is what forums like this are all about, getting different fans together to comment on the match, have sensible debates and end up agreeing on the correct conclusion. It's excellent, like being Plato.

It's amazing how it brings two different sides of the country together. This is why I love football. Isn't it great that we all get along and are able to reach the logical ends.

Timing is everything .No games for two weeks so a new manager has a bit of time to work with the squad..
Gets to start with a relegation team his first game , much like Monk with Cardiff.
Rodgers is a natural pick to be manager if Monk is axed , Rodgers is available.
I don't care about talk of Monk , Laudrup or the board , we are clearly being mismanaged now , on and off the pitch.
Even if we get 3 points from Bournmouth ,which is certainly not a given these days , a bad run up till Christmas could make it to late for someone to right the ship..
I wanted Monk to succeed , but........

I will give Monk until Bournemouth, and have voted accordingly, the reason for this is he is he has lost the dressing room in my view, and I do not want any more damage done, Laudrup was sacked for such a slump, and admittedly other things to, but yesterday was dependable from Monk, and against the poorest Norwich side I have ever watched, so for me that is it, if he uses the same inept tactics against Bournemouth, then I will be calling for him to go............ <ok>

If monk had tried Eder for Gomis and a few other changes including subs on earlier, etc at least he would have shown he's trying to find a combination that works ! But no he keeps on with his losing formula so is looking clueless ! Time to get an experienced footballing managers brain in charge for me.

Are we all wrong , in that we seem to see what the problems on the pitch are but Monk cannot. I truly would be disappointed if he has to go ( without knowing the detail of why he seems oblivious or inept atm ) We don't sack managers on a whim and long may that continue , it only brings more uncertainty and disruption with no guarantee of improvements and on a personal level a sense of failure to the individuals involved ( money solves the physical problems of where to Iive and bills to pay but personal pride is something you can't buy).Just as importantly how long if this blip continues will it be before the board act

Trouble is Phil that giving Monk until Bournemouth proves nothing. Even with Monk's ineptitude it's a game we should win (though the way we're playing I'm beginning to wonder!). What would it prove if we did win? No more than beating Villa did imo.

Would it show that he's learnt if he has Barrow/Routs and Montero on the wings with either Eder or Ayew up front with Tabanou at left back?

The trouble is, in reality he'll play the same side as yesterday again.

I'm doing that to give him the benefit of the doubt, as he's been a long standing servant of the club, he was great as captain through the leagues, and had a great season last year, though things are not working out now, and maybe the seemingly easy game against Bournemouth might be just what he needs, if he still uses Gomis at that game, and doesn't think outside the box with his tactics, then for me he has used up all support from me, and I will want him gone, we cannot afford to give him any further slack, and whether Huw brings in another manager and gives Monk the assistant managers roll is yet to unfold, but Bournemouth will be Monks last stop as I see it...........<ok>

Was hoping that with Monk we could have finally got a long term manager with strategy to take us to the next level, last season was full of promise, which this season has simply evaporated.......<ok>

Monk has delivered a great 18 months of relative success at the Club, with some great victories, historic doubles and achieved our highest PL position.

Although inexperienced at the start, he has been on a steep learning curve and will have learnt a lot in that time, including how to change tactics to win different matches. That is why this current run of form since the Watford game is so mystifying.

Why won't he now change tactics? Stubborness? Arrogance? Whatever it is, he has dug himself into a deep hole.

If it is down to his own tactical dogma, I think the Club has two options:
    (a) Sack him.
    (b) Take him into a room on Monday morning and tell him that if the current team formation is used once more this season he's out the door.

I hope the Club goes for (b)

I can't for the life of me understand why we have abandoned the four in midfield diamond with Montero/Routs out wide. That was our best formation last season.

I wouldn't say " 18 months " of relative success , his first 9 games had us 4 points from relegation with 3 to play .
Considering he took us over with a healthy team , reasonable rest between games against mid and lower table teams ,after a gruelling Christmas schedule ,we were 2 points from relegation with no less than 11 teams in the relegation race at that early time.
There was probably only 6 teams in that relegation race with 3 to go and we were one of them .

As posts are being forensically examined, how about this? <laugh>

During his time in charge Monk has delivered a period of relative success at the Club, with some great victories, historic doubles and achieved our highest PL position.

We cant afford to give him 1 more minute at the club as every minute he is here he is taking us backwards. We have a massive relegation match against Bournemouth next up and I don't think we can afford to have him in charge for it. A loss there and we are in deep ****. Get him gone and get him gone immediately. I have had more than enough of the rubbish he is serving up. We look a bad side and I am sure our players are better than that it is just our manager isn't capable of getting the best out of them.

Just throwing it out there but how would everyone feel about Rodgers as manager with Monk as his assistant?

I don't think GM would do that, neither would I really want him here, His time is done for me.
