You made your point regarding Reed (which was a decent one) and some people disagreed. Then you got into a semantics discussion regarding the word 'credibility', which from an external perspective, looks like nobody was really up for.

Nothing to do with the welcoming/not welcoming nature of this site. Please can we not use that as a 'go-to' thing because somebody has disagreed with a point...?

You've said your piece and I expect a lot of people agreed, but I think the whole thing has bumbled along a little from that.

There were two more posts from me after that. Two.

Do I have to pay a £5 subscription to be allowed any more without criticism?

You can make as many as you like, but without the expectation that people should answer or be interested, or else they're in an "intellectual black hole". I just find the criticism of the site unwarranted.

Spacedsaint - literally nobody cares.

Yes they do.

The question for me is which one is in possession of the facts and do you believe someone who can potentially distort the truth or someone who surmises what may have happened which could be a complete fiction. Until the facts are proven otherwise I am with Les.

Having spouted that crap I cannot wait for season to start again then the puns, the speculation, the fiction, and the pedantry can end and we can discuss football.

Your pedantry will end once the football starts? Whatever! :)

Everton turn down a 20mil bid for john stones from Chelsea.

Long term successor for Terry?

Now that is how to bat away an offer. I was quite annoyed we never went in for him before Everton got him. And now I'm glad we didn't get him, as he would undoubtedly be off. Hope Barnsley have a big sell-on fee, as thought they were ripped off a bit on that deal.

You have restored my faith in humanity :)

So Delph lied twice? Or has PP messed up who it is?

Surely Delph can't leave after saying all that last week? He would be the biggest idiot in football!

Maybe he's jumping ship now he knows that their only goal threat is off to Liverpool - If Benteke does go to them of course. The sale of the club has ground to a halt so he might be seeing the writing on the wall and doesn't want to be part of a relegated side

Pretty sure they can find a couple of decent replacements for 35 million.

As I've kept saying, it's nothing but self-interest, and certainly nothing to do with loyalty:

As an aside, I don;t believe Delph is putting his love for Villa aside for anything. He just wants to play football, so if anyone else but Man City and Chelsea came along, I reckon he'd be off in a shot. There's no loyalty, as it is of course self-interest. But I have no doubt he isn't doing it out of loyalty.

Maybe they convinced him he'd get a game. I reckon City called it off previously, or had some kind of problem with the deal, so he backtracked. Now it's back on for whatever reason.
