Chelsea must have someone else available for us to loan from them (and if they can be as successful for us as Bertrand, then all the better).

I can never decide if I like Victor Moses or not.

Why not?

Already lost a proven RB and likely to loose two more proven players in Toby and Morgan. Signed three players that are not proven here. Only ever heard of the goalie!

Our much lauded black box doesn't always get it right, and what negative effect has Dave Mitchell leaving had.

I hold my hand up and own up to getting it wrong last summer, would love to be wrong again.

Just because a player is PL proven, whatever the hell that mean's, doesn't mean he won't be rubbish. Soares and Juanmi are two young, exciting talents, Stekelenberg a tried and tested GK who's played at the very highest level.

We may be gaining a Gaston, a Jay and a Gallagher but we are losing Elia and Duricic. So in terms of numbers, we are going to be much the same as last season, which in my opinion was too thin even with no Europa.
Sold one rb bought two.
Juanmi for Djuricic
Jay for Elia

Get a replacement for Alderweireld and Morgan and we will be stronger. Also it is not the end of the transfer window.

Well, Stekelenberg was such, at least. In recent years he has been quite bad, and he hasn't been able to hold down a starting role for a full season since '11/'12.

We have a long way to go for 'stronger', tbh. Stronger would have been two good RBs, rather than one with the chance to be good, and another who is more or less a placeholder. We still need considerable depth, and we also need top-end quality. Getting both is not going to be easy.

1 right back was to replace Chambers who we didn't replace last season, and we also never replaced Cork.
We didn't have Chambers last season tho did we? So yep we are stronger then last season at rb (in terms of player wise).

As I said the other day we were looking to bring in 3 players this week.
One was Martina
The other one was going to being Alderweireld.
I haven't a clue who the 3rd was.

I'd also imagine some of the youngsters would be more involved this year. Reed and Targett for sure and possibly Gallagher. Even Stephens and Turnbull to an extent perhaps.
Can't see Turnbull being used.

I can see:
Gape
Hesketh
McCarthy
Mugabe
Stephens (if not loaned out)

Being played more this season.

Sky sports the other day had top 10 young players to have a break through season and on there was Jordan Turnbull. Who works for Sky? I would of thought they should of gone for Hesketh or Slattery

Some people rate Turnbull but I am not one. Hopefully he proves me wrong.

No we didn't kick off the season with Chambers, but what I was getting at was that he has only just been replaced.

From what little I saw of Swindon last season (and I accept, it really was little, so may not be a fair judgement), I thought Turnball and Stephens were both very poor. Considering it was L1, I was embarrassed thinking that these guys were on loan from us.

But what I was saying is we have two players this season instead of one last season. So player wise we are stronger. I'm not talking about ability yet as we haven't seen them play in the Prem.

Stephens was great for Swindon. So I don't know how you can be embaressed. Even if they were both poor why be embaressed over two youngsters trying to learn and get better?

I watched Swindon a fair few games last season , Turnball won't make it IMO however Stephens looked a capable player and I know for a fact Swindon have asked if he is available this season.

Obviously it's a huge leap from League One to Premier League, so neither player may end up making it here.

But my understanding from lurking at some Swindon boards was that they were quite pleased with Turnbull and Stephens. Particularly Turnbull... wasn't he their fan's player of the year or something?

Can we have 4 signings, but a couple of Toby style loans as well? Given the Europa uncertainty that would actually be good for us this time around.
