I think we shouldn't underestimate just how good Maya Yoshida is becoming too. He's starting to look the real deal. You don't always have to find the answers in multimillion pound deals. Harrison Reed is going to be an excellent holding mid. Gape looked good when he got a chance last year. Mugabe has potential. And that's not even mentioning One Goal!

What the club needs is to change our image. Even players who know the club can't shake the image we are small-time. The only way to do that is a couple of marquee signings. Clasie would be a good start.

Why not?

Already lost a proven RB and likely to loose two more proven players in Toby and Morgan. Signed three players that are not proven here. Only ever heard of the goalie!

Our much lauded black box doesn't always get it right, and what negative effect has Dave Mitchell leaving had.

I hold my hand up and own up to getting it wrong last summer, would love to be wrong again.

To be fair, you can't blame the club for you not having heard of a Portugese international fullback who was linked with some of the best clubs in europe before signing here. Juanmi widely regarded as a bargain for the price also.

I can only assume you had not heard of Pelle, Tadic or Mane either and they turned out OK no? Our 'big' money sigings will be in the positions of most need, namely central midfield and central defence but keep the faith - the nucleus of the squad is still strong and we are adding international quality all the time.

Most players we get are not proven in the EPL...the main reason being that if they are of a good enough standard in the Premier League, we can't afford them. The whole point of our system is to achieve massively using (relatively) small amounts of money. If not from the Academy, players that suit us and have potential are spotted from abroad. We don't have a 100% strike rate, but neither do teams paying zillions.

Chin up everyone, he was good but not enough to change our season. Things will get a lot better once Morgan has gone, then all our transfers will be incomers and we can stop worrying about people leaving.

I agree with all of that and I know we can't sign gazillion pound players, but it's so frustrating having to rebuild a team every year. Our squad wasn't strong enough last season and probably won't be this one either. That's my frustration. other teams don't seem to sell there better players with as much regularity as us and it isn't because they aren't as good as ours in all cases. Is it wages I don't know.

We're not really having to rebuild this year though. A CB, RB and DM. Only one of those has actually 'left' the club to date. We only needed a GK because of an unfortunate injury. That's regular summer turnover (if not actually relatively light).

By every year you mean last year, and this year? If you can even call it rebuilding a team this year.
