You may have hit the nail on the head..."rumour"

I am convincing myself that the lack of CB links is is for the very reason that Toby is staying and we are just getting timing right. He went away with Belgium and then got married, so maybe we'll announce it when he returns.

Let's hope so.

We're gazumping United to Ramos, don't worry.

We're obviously waiting to see how the situation with Toby resolves. There's no point in bringing any more CB's if there is a reasonable chance of Toby signing for us.

We most certainly have a list of possible replacements. Although, if there is no good replacement for Toby available, to me it wouldn't be a disaster to go with the players we already have, and promote Yoshida to the starting lineup. He's no Toby, but he improved a lot in three seasons for us and can do the job. Then we have Gardos as a first substitute. He also showed some promise, hell he played in wins on Emirates and Old Trafford, that's got to amount to something. And we did brought him presumably because we saw some potential in him and it wouldn't be the worst idea to place your trust in the player you already have.

And then there's Stephens/McCarthy as fourth option, they got to be introduced to the fist team sometimes.

I hear what you're saying, but I'm hoping for progression this season. That feels too much like nailing on a 12th place finish.

Yeah. Reverting back to our second and third choice CBs over the course of the season isn't progressive as I see it. Maya has come on leaps and bounds, but if we don't get Toby in, for us to progress I think we need to bring in another CB. Do you not?

We will be so don't worry.

I figured we would. Don't get me wrong from the previous post, I've all the time in the world for Maya, and I think Gardos has promise, but to progress we want more than that.
Same here. I can see one of them being replaced within a few seasons.

Last I heard is we want two rbs even if Toby comes back.

McCarthy is seen as a cb.
Mugabi isn't ready imo.
