Nope last thing I heard was Clyne was close to signing. So if he doesn't he has played the club a bit as the guy on Saintsweb who gets things spot on said the same.

Circumstances change though Beef - he may well have been on the verge of signing a new deal with the idea that Alves was close to United. Now he's signed again for Barca, that position may have changed with a renewed interest from MU. I don't think you can barrack him for that.

Ralph is speaking to the media later today - so we may get an idea of what's going on. Then again, we may not. :)

"Les Reed is an outstanding head of football development, and we are already working hard on the list of our target players in order to deepen our roster. We are playing European Football, but it is important we do what is right for the club, and do it our way: the Southampton way".

To be fair I'm not overly bothered about Clyne, I'd rather get £15m than lose him for free next year and RB is hardly the most irreplaceable position. Fingers crossed on this guy though as he appears to be very highly rated and a good age too.

Sounds good Beefy, I've never heard of him in truth.
Notice I said better defender tho. Clyne is a bit better at attacking. But I would rather a defender be a good defender first.

I can he wants to leave. Which means he doesn't think we are good enough. :emoticon-0110-tonguLiverpool are still in for him btw.

Has this O Jogo ever been right about anything? :D Every other day they link us to a player form portuguese league, and nothing ever comes from it.

So would I, I know attacking FB's are the modern way but where our defence was so important to our success this year I think we need to keep it that way if we want to progress - will help us in Europe as well, I actually think our style under Koeman is very suited to the european game.

Yeah, but I don't think he's necessarily playing the club, he's seeing what his options are.
If Billy says he is staying it means he has heard from the club that Clyne has all but agreed. Billy knows far more then I do andI haven't seen him be wrong yet. So it would mean he has been giving mixed messages.

Or it means he's not sure yet what his options are.

Still telling the club one thing and then thinking another tho isn't it? I won't moan if he leaves as I see players leaving as not wanting to be here. So no point in getting annoyed. But it's a shame he has let this drag out so much.
